The term racism is a watered down interpretation and excuse used by liberals when a candidate or party does not agree with the liberal's ideological view and interpretation for the role of government. I don't know about your 230 point thing but I'll answer your question . And if ties into legacy .

For almost their entire history Ivy's specially kept minorities out of their school. Meaning all their graduates were white . Meaning their white kids got accepted under legacy . The result is a white affirmative action .

So part of schools AA programs is to make up for past wrongs .

But there's a 2nd part. Schools want to provide an all around education for their students. Part of that is mixing them wh students from different backgrounds. (Race , nationality , regional ,economic background ) . So little Jonny blue blood who's never exposed to black People , finally gets a chance to mix wh someone different . Like he will have to do in the real world .

The purpose is not to keep whites out . Obviously since a big majority of the student body is white .
