I am agreeing with you 100% on that. I will note the act specifically states:
1. Is a voluntary for each county;
2. Is only effective if homeless shelters are full.

Stating the "won't impact value" part is twitchy, but frankly I live where this has occurred. Additionally, if an area is expensive, the County won't buy it anyway.

BTW, that's exactly what New York City is doing. They are housing thousands at Bennett Field out near the city limits, far away from the tourist locations.

That really depends on the city. A lot of major Urban Heck Holes in the US encourage people to camp on their sidewalks.

Nowadays, another thing the cities are encouraging is the construction of shacks for their bums to live in. They call them "tiny houses".

My issue would be more that this is a state level issue, not local. Centralized facilities providing housing, job training, and medical recovery from drugs are what we need, and quit relying on the county jail system and the streets to house homeless and mentally sick.

Removing them to a camp is the most reasonable thing to do.
