This is a real conservative solution to homelessness. Coral them out of sight to maintain property values.
Its on the meatballs desk at the moment but its so cruel and inhumane you know it will be law shortly.
America swerved a monster when they rejected the pixie boot nazi.

The market does not solve homelessness. Neither does Ron.

Florida has the right idea. 👍

Notably, it places the financial and logistical burden of setting up accommodation solely on municipalities and counties. It also offers few specifics other than the camps can operate for only up to a year, must have restrooms and running water, and cannot depress surrounding property values.

WTF?
HOW is that supposed to happen?
Of course, DUHSantis passes the buck on to others.

Theres two sides to everything Tommy. We've seen how compassion in SF has ruined the city, and the lives of the homeless are still no better.
Kids also have a right to access parks, without stepping on a needle, or watching somebody deficate or O.D. Liberalism and its effects are greatluy why we are experiencing more homelessness in the first place.
Your not from here Tommy... I've been around these areas where I live and have been right up close with the homeless, for years now. You really have no idea what your talking about.

One of its Republican sponsors, state senator Jonathan Martin, insisted it was a safety issue, and that his bill was sympathetic to unhoused persons.

“Insufficient shelter beds and insufficient permanent housing solutions result in unsheltered sleeping and camping in public places, places that we want our kids and grandkids to enjoy, like the parks,” he told a Florida Senate hearing earlier this month.

“This bill is a compassionate response to the shortage of shelters and supportive housing by providing an alternative to sleeping in the streets.”

Never heard of Krome, bruh? This is nothing new when there's surges of immigrants, and FL

has seen its share over the years.

Google sucks, so here ya go:

Sike! Fuck that, find it on your own, Welsh weirdo.

Can we send them to Wales? How much room do you have on your sheep farm?

My issue would be more that this is a state level issue, not local. Centralized facilities providing housing, job training, and medical recovery from drugs are what we need, and quit relying on the county jail system and the streets to house homeless and mentally sick.

You should change "or" to "the", though.

So the homeless are being housed instead of wandering the streets starving and committing crimes? No wonder you're so upset.

And how exactly is it cruel and inhumane to house the homeless?

It is a good idea mostly because you can centralize services from a place like that. Cruel and inhumane is to let them languish on the street corners and under the bridges. Expenditures can be more accurately accounted and agencies that want to donate will have a place to send them to. Hell they might even open up a school on campus for the kids.

I'm betting that once other states see this They will do the same thing.

Law and order in Florida is not a bad thing and should be copied by other states who are failing to keep their people safe and protected...

As long as they have qualified social workers to help them get back on their feet and become productive citizens, those who can't at least have a place to live, cared for and be safe other than a jail cell. Their constitutional rights as citizens must always be at the fore front of any program for them.

Well yeah! he thinks its not humane unless the homeless shelter is built across the street from a Middle School ! either that or the shelter should be withing close proximity of businesses where they can ask customers for extra money. But keeping all the homeless together in one place where they can possibly be sorted out and some recieve help or direction? thats a big no !
