A 13-year-old boy in Florida fatally shot his 6-year-old brother, wounded his 16-year-old brother and then killed himself on Wednesday during an argument over food, authorities said.
The three brothers were squabbling over dinner, the statement said, when the 13-year-old grabbed a handgun and shot his two brothers before killing himself. The children were home alone at the time.

Another faken children-gun case. Sad. Condolences to family. Waiting for the investigation results.
What if all children in that family have had guns? Nothing bad would have happened?
There is no disputes that can be solved usin a guns. inside the family, of course.
Is this case the fact that the gun in the home increases the chance of homicide or suicide?
Ready availability of firearms is associated with an increased risk of suicide in the home. Owners of firearms should weigh their reasons for keeping a gun in the home against the possibility that it might someday be used in a suicide

The claim that availability of guns causes an increase in suicide is nonsense. There is no way to substantiate that.

As I have said numerous times, the only thing we know about a gun suicide is that they truly wanted to die. If someone truly wants to die, they can find a way pretty easily.

Sad that these youngsters are dead. But then, leaving a loaded gun out when there is no adult present is stupid.

Having a weapon that isn't loaded defeats the purpose. Having a weapon readily available to minors is what's stupid, not that it was loaded imo.

But having an unloaded weapon available to unsupervised kids is not dangerous either. So yes, the fact that it was loaded does make a difference.

Ya, no one's ever been shot for brandishing an unloaded weapon.

Why then he shot the brothers, if this guy just wanted to shoot himself?
Here's what scares. The guy was 13 years old. It is a quite conscious age

Very sad. I feel bad for the family who must now deal with the fact that their own actions made these shootings possible.

It is a very simple fact that if there had not been guns available to this boy, he would not have shot anyone, including himself.

Sadly, others who read of this tragedy will say they taught their kids gun safety or that they keep their guns away from their children. Then there are those who will say they grew up with guns, as I did, and no one was ever shot. As though that is meaningful on any level.

The worst are those who will use this as a way of making the totally unfounded accusations about "gun grabbers" and banning. They have no sense of decency or honesty.
