Florida BANS Driver License Tests in Foreign Languages

Where in the Constitution does it say that?
They want to speak in a language where they don’t know the language most know where they obviously have a hard time at school or entering a Job or profession) school) where they for the most part do NOT speak their language? OK with me

So let’s understand the logic. The idea of the drivers test being in English makes a modicum of sense until you look further into it. So, an immigrant who wants to drive either refuses to take it or flunks it because it is in English and not in a language he understands. So you think that will stop him from driving? Probably not. So, he drives anyway and gets into an accident. Guess what, the injured party now has no monetary recourse because in order to get a driver’s license in Florida you have to provide proof of insurance. You would think you want more insured drivers on the highway than uninsured drivers. But logic makes little sense these days.

Has nothing to do with driving

I was stationed in Berlin. I had a USAEUR drivers license. I had to pass a very extensive written test and a sign test where I had to prove that I understood every road sign I would confront as a driver.
Back in the day, I had an international driver’s license. All I had to do was pay $100 at AAA.

What tests did you take? You mean those who don’t speak English have to go through what you did? Doubt it

I had a USAEUR drivers license. You had to prove that yiu understood German traffic laws and could read and understand every traffic sign you’d encounter. On the road.

Doesn’t it make sense to prove that you can read and understand every traffic sign you’ll encounter out on the road?

No
Just critical ones that could lead to an accident

So in your mind it doesn’t make sense to prove that you can read US traffic signs and understand US traffic laws?

I guess you don’t mind people driving the wrong way on the freeway or one way street.

Absolutely
You can understand traffic laws in your own language

Not critical to understand informational signs or billboards

Only an idiot would think its not necessary for drivers in the U.S. to prove they understand our traffic laws and can read and understand all traffic signs.
