Florida BANS Driver License Tests in Foreign Languages

I have explained numerous times
They need to understand major road signs
not if they are not given a driver's license

You have not explained why a person who can answer all the questions on a written exam in a language they understand but can’t answer them in a language they can’t read should be barred from our roads
Because they don't understand the language our road signs are written in. A driver's license is a privilege, not a right.

But as long as they understand road signs, what difference does it make?

The level of fluency needed to read a road sign is not as high as needed to answer multiple choice questions

I have driven in Europe and did not speak the language.

I don’t care what language the test is in.
I just want safe drivers

A driver needs to know a STOP sign means stop
65 mph is the speed limit
What a NO LEFT TURN sign means

They do not need to be able to read English
What a Jerk You see nothing wrong with a LEGAL driver not being able to read; just go by signs? What about “ detour “ , “ road closed” etc etc If for some reason that driver is stopped ( referring to a legal resident) You don’t think it’s important that they know how to communicate?

Simple road signs to understand
Detour with an arrow is not that hard.
Road closed is usually accompanied by barriers

What is hard is answering multiple choice questions in a language you don’t understand

You've boiled it down to Red means stop and Yellow mean caution.

Having more unlicensed drivers on the roads is a truly inspirational move by the GOP
Having more licensed drivers on the road is a truly inspiration room by the Republicans
Having more drivers on the road who don’t speak English in a true motive for Democrats. This way they can claim that to ask for English to be spoken is racist

If a person is functionally illiterate and they luck their way through the written exam, they are not denied a chance to take the road test. If they pass, they get a license.

Also, there is no obligation for a native-born US citizen to speak English in the first place.

Jeeeezus, this is the biggest problem on your plate?

God help your country.

So what? if the driver goes to wrong part of airport he'll learn some new words the hard way, not everybody is as hopeless as you'd be in a different country. Have you ever travelled out of the USA? do you have passport even? does the prospect terrify you?

..... Have you ever travelled out of the USA? do you have passport even? does the prospect terrify you?

Oh, here we go. One of the pretentious dbag liberals' favorite tunes.

True. And if they can't pass the written test in English, they don't get a license. The law does not discriminate based on race or nationality or ...

These are called "facts" an unfamiliar concept to you cultists I know, but once you learn English you'll understand the term.

15th post
I speak several languages, but English is my L1.
Skunkotare, Have you not noticed that Insurance firms do not charge more for driver's who are not native English speakers. If there was a higher accident risk for them, trust me the insurance firms would know about it.

Therefore this whole issue is another maga phantom, just another bogeyman to induce fear in the mindless mob.

What is hard to demand drivers speak the language of the Country they immigrated to?

You mean someone born here does not have to speak the language? Does that HONESTLY make sense to you? Unfortunately it does

Did I say it was the biggest problem? You should address the initial poster. Your Country has more then enough problems of its own
