First majority Muslim city council in America

Most American Muslims are like most American Christians - the believe in the Constitution. I strongly suspect you'll find that with Sunni as well.

there are people who "BELIEVE IN THE CONSTITUTION" ?? I do not understand the statement -----they worship the constitution? They worship President Madison as a "god"????

Belief doesn't equal worship. Nice try though :)

your response is meaningless.

Do you believe in gravity?
Do you worship it?

Do you believe the sun rises every day?
Do you worship the sun?

Not trying to be nasty - the sun is perfectly good to worship - it's reliable, brings warmth, brightens the day...

Do you believe that we should pay our taxes?
Do you worship taxes?

Who's your god? Gravity? Sun? Taxes?

You are describing physical objects.
"believing" in the constitution of the USA means acceptance of its details
which----are, in fact, in specific contradiction to many of the details of shariah
law. Several Islamic countries VERY SPECIFICALLY include as a detail of
their civil codes that they accept NOTHING which contradicts THE KORAN----shariah law is nothing less than the interpretation of the koran by recognized
koranic scholars. Koranic scholars do not "believe" in the US constitution,
they "believe" in the koran as the eternal and divine SINGLE TRUTH

"Believing" in something means many different things.

It does not necessarily mean worshipping a diety.

One can be a Muslim (or Jew or Christian) and also believe in the values and rights given in the Constitution. It's not rocket science.

wrong-----it is compatible with rabbinical law----obviously not "the same" ---
but not incompatible The law derived from the bible , like the law

Depends on the culture.

Either way - it doesn't alter whether or not a religion's law is compatible with the Constitution. As you can see, there is little difference.

wrong again Coyote----there is a principle of jewish jurisprudence

the constitution of the United States IS NOT consistent with shariah law. It is not INCONSISTENT with any system of law to which the vast majority of Christians and jews adhere. It's not rocket science

It's not consistent with Rabbinical law either..or the Bible...so what?

wrong-----it is compatible with rabbinical law----obviously not "the same" ---

wrong again Coyote----there is a principle of jewish jurisprudence
that you are ignoring-------the PENALTIES CANNOT BE EXCEEDED
BUT THEY CAN AND ALWAYS CAN BE REDUCED------you listed only the
MAXIMUMS. By actual edicts and customs whole categories of
penalties were reduced-----virtually all the time,,, regularly. Fret not---
you hold a very commonly held misconception. Islamic law REQUIRES
the maximum penalty

So they will kill infidels? Polygamy? Beating your wife is ok? Selling your daughters will be ok? Chopping hands off? Stoning unmarried women who have sex? What exactly are you expecting?
Once again, the muslim city council has no ability to change or enforce criminal laws.

But they could deny liquor license within the town, re-zone or even eliminate adult porn shops and strip clubs, mandate halal school lunches for muslim children, etc. ......

1) It depends on the laws of the State, if localities can become "dry" or not. The 21st amendment gives the States the choice, and they can delegate it to localities if they so choose.

2) Might run into 1st amendment issues if they ban it outright, but they can do other restrictions.

3) Also depends on the State, and the laws regarding school boards.

Doesn't seem very compatible to me.

wrong again Coyote----there is a principle of jewish jurisprudence
that you are ignoring-------the PENALTIES CANNOT BE EXCEEDED
BUT THEY CAN AND ALWAYS CAN BE REDUCED------you listed only the
MAXIMUMS. By actual edicts and customs whole categories of
penalties were reduced-----virtually all the time,,, regularly. Fret not---
you hold a very commonly held misconception. Islamic law REQUIRES
the maximum penalty
---In fact ---by memory I recall that principle
actually emphasized by big MO himself-----presented in what is supposed
to be something like case-law----------some guy gets stoned for adultery
whereas by that time stoning for adultery was outmoded in jewish
jurisprudence. It was a kind of cautionary tale. Do not ask
me for chapter and verse

The Jewish law, as written is as incompatible with the Constitution as Sharia.

Do you have a source for your claim on Islamic jurisprudence?
Jews aren't threatening to slice your head off if they can't spread Jewish law. Muslims on the other hand...
