Fewer Laws = Less Police Brutality

Want to reduce police brutality? Easy. Teach Blacks from early on how to not resist arrest and how to respect police officers, and that if they resist or take off, they could be shot.

Better yet, Teach them right from wrong and that starts with obeying the laws that protect the innocent.

Here in Los Angeles (and no doubt in other cities), the police often reclassify a serious crime as a lesser one.

This makes the politicians happy, for they can now tell the voters: "See, I have kept my promise to reduce serious crime!"

The only people who suffer from this trick are the victims of serious crimes. But who cares about them!

I agree that there is an unreasonable number of laws on the books. And the cops are under tremendous pressure to bring in a lot of cash, disproportionately so in corrupt Democrat controlled cities.

Take for instance the guy in Atlanta. He fell asleep with his car in park in the Wendy's drive thru. The cop woke him up and told him to park his car. And all was good. Nobody got hurt, no harm no foul. That could have been the end of it.

But no. They bring in a DUI specialist who quite obviously has specialized training to get big dollar DUI convictions. And it wasn't until they tried to arrest him that he freaked out, committed assault and strong arm robbery, ran off with the stolen tazer, tried to shoot the cop with it, but missed, and got killed by return fire.

All because DUI laws are a cash cow.

laws should be based on logic, reason, necessity and common sense.
First, logic and common sense in gov't are oxymorons to Liberty.
Second, laws are to punish for criminal activity.
Third, most of our laws criminalize for stupid shit because it might happen, or someone else did it and this occured-
Reason is a sound explanation- excuse is an attempt to justify, many times a lame attempt.

Laws don't protect, they punish, after the fact, which is what they're supposed to do. The fact is, there are too many laws. There are so many federal laws they can't be counted. Add local laws and I doubt even the so called educated could count them all.

I don't get the mentality of more, or harsher, laws when it's as obvious as the sunshine on a cloudless day, they prevent nothing, but do, a. generate revenue and, b. make thugs in clown suits believe they're special.
The law writers already are "granted" revenue through theft why in the world do they want more? The thugs in clown suits probably couldn't keep a job to create wealth, but, they and their Empty Suited parasite brothers can sure enough confiscate it.

SMH- you people should be ashamed of yourselves. Laws are meant to punish, after the fact, for criminal behavior.

Teach them not to resist. It goes sour when they resist.
How about you learning all men are created equal and have cerain UNalienable rights (you know, that old document that started this experiment?) so YOU can learn to respect others before demanding others respect you or what you *feel* is a good thing. Then, show us, oh Sir Erudite, just where in ANY constitution is the power granted thugs in uniforms (or Empty Suits) to FORCE obedience. In case your failed Public Education forgot to mention, this Country's gov't was established to "secure or liberty" which isn't spelled restrict Liberty, no matter how much you want to.

You need two things-

1) Police training

2) Break the cycle of deprivation

If those kids are brought up unruly, their kids will be brought up unruly too, and so it continues.

I've seen that when someone resists arrest, it goes really bad for them. Just do what the cop tells you to and you'll stay alive.
