(Ferguson, MO) -- A multi-million-dollar lawsuit is expected to be filed today against the Ferguson and St. Louis County Police departments in Missouri. A group called "Black Lawyers For Justice" will hold a news conference this afternoon detailing the 200-million-dollar class action suit, which also names the mayor of Ferguson. The Washington, DC-based group states its mission as fighting injustice in the legal system, and uncovering human rights violations.

This is more about lawyers looking for a payday than about anyone suing on behalf of looters. I also didn't see the looters mentioned at all. Are you suggesting that every black person in Ferguson was involved in looting?

The lawyers typically get 35% of whatever is won in a lawsuit. That means these lawyers going by the name "Black Lawyers For Justice" would split $70,000,000.00 between them. Their website lists 6 lawyers. If the city settles for 1/10th of the lawsuit amount, each of these lawyers would get $1.1 million.
