Federal Judge Blocks Louisiana Law That Requires Classrooms To Display Ten Commandments.

That should be a matter for the states.

With the 14th amendment, any form of religious advocacy is unconstitutional.

The problem is we have created new forms of "religion", with Pride being one of them.

It would be fine if tolerance is what was being taught, but it's celebration, and that's a moral judgement, and that's a no-no.

There is no "religious purpose" at all. The 10 Commandments don't belong to any particular faith at all. They were a message from Almighty God to the people and have nothing to do with religion.
Just not the Hindus and Buddhists and atheists and Sikhs and Muslims.

You've got to learn to lie better. The Ten Commandments is all about the rule set down by non-existent Sky Man. It is overtly religious and as the U.S. is a secular nation, posting them is a violation of the First Amendment.
  • “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” ...
  • “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.” ...
  • “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.” ...
  • “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.” ...

i live in louisiana. the kids like to laugh about how many of the commandments dear leader flaunted yesterday. maybe they could post the deadly sins as well.

teens are very attuned to hypocrisy.
Teens are attuned to TicToc, cell phones, makeup, rainbows and the Kardashians. They don't give one shit about politics.
We were a much better nation when we were overtly religious, and taught our children the morals presented in the Ten Commandments.

Why can't people just ignore what they don't like? They can just view the commandment picture/plaque as a decoration which all schools are allowed to have anyway and at the end of the day, how much attention is truly paid towards things like decorations? They could be like a lady wondering if her husband notices the haircut that she got which I am guessing that most husbands do not notice such things.

God bless you always!!!

P.S. It isn't like the schools are wanting the kids to sign a documentation about the commandments against their will or anything like that. I also highly doubt that the picture/plaque will vocally start preaching to any kid/teacher who walks by it.

Can't they just put up one large poster in the lobby. Every classroom sounds like a bit much. "It's third period, I'd better read the commandments again." Said no student ever.

Cool. Lets put up some Islamic Suras.

When was this mythical time?

When we were the world's bank. The bread basket of the world. When our nation wasn't borrowing and spending trillions. When children were taught how to read and write. When math wasn't racist. When we kept to our immigration laws. When our children could leave the house in safety, play outside, and never fear abduction, rape and murder. When they weren't too damn fat to run and play. When they were taught to excel.
When the American dream was attainable.

Science, math, reading, grammar, history and civics should be taught in schools.
Not someones god, except from a historical perspective. Or maybe a psychological one. :)

Jim Crow.

Which of the ten do you think I disobey? Which ones do you think my children disobey?
I don't know you or your kids. Do you want me to guess? Kids: Not honoring thy Mother and Father. You: Stop coveting thy neighbor's husband. Yeah, the really good looking one.

I'm just being silly. However, taking God's name in vain happens with every 'God damn it'.
