Father of 3. Husband. KiIIed in Chicago by a felon on parole with 20+ arrests, Alphanso Talley.

Judges and parole boards aren't clairvoyant.

Yes, and it's unfortunate that this firefighter is dead because the cops escalated this situation.

Oh, doing some research, which I should always do when seeing one of leftwinger 's rants, this incident he's on about happened in 2019. He was carrying on like it was last week.
You say the cops were wrong because you hate cops

But they were doing their job

Sure, we care. The Democratic State's Attorney asked that he be remanded until trial. The judge thought that electronic monitoring was good enough. When he violated electronic monitoring, a warrant was put out for his arrest by Democratic officials.

Now, here's the thing. IL has a no-cash bail system. It means we stop holding people in jail for months waiting for trials because they can't afford bail, when 40% of those charges end up being dismissed.

Either the judge decides this person is too dangerous to be released on the street, or they are free until their court date, which, frankly, is how it should be. If people are truly innocent until proven guilty, then you don't lock them up until you've proven that.

Digging a little deeper, it sounds like the Judge was making a protest against the SAFE-T Act rather than just using his discretion to hold the man. He also made some idiotic statement about how the man's mind was "maturing," and the birth of his daughter might be a turning point for him.

In short. This judge proved the old adage of "What do you call a Lawyer with an IQ of 80?" "Your Honor".

You seem very informed about the situation. Who appointed the low IQ judge?
