Fat people, drinkers, smokers, engaging in "risky behavior" and must be punished...

... With extra taxation, because they are a burden on the medical system and they should PAY for their excesses and risky behavior.

Well....

What about other high-risk activities, such as intravenous drug use, unprotected anal sex --unprotected sex of any kind -- and any other activity that is known to spread AIDS? Shouldn't these folks share the responsibility of the burden their behavior is placing on the system?

Wonder why none of this is addressed in the health care reform proposals?

Why just talk about AIDS? How about Hepatitis? Other STDs?

But, that being pointed out, are you denying that smokers and obese people don't put a large burden on the tax care system?

Why just talk about fat people, smokers and drinkers? If you're really going to do prevention by social engineering thru punitive taxation, why limit yourself to those?

Don't we need every dime we can get to pay for this?

Why do you want any of them punished? Everyone engages in risky behavior, it's unavoidable.

It's difficult to get conservatives to take sex education seriously. That's why they have such an incredibly high level of teen pregnancy and STDs. And, this country leans right. There is no doubt that it's center right. That means the even with Democrats somewhat in charge, there are things that are just considered conservative. Keeping children ignorant of their actions are one.

Smoking, fat, drinking - as long as it's limited to the individual, then it's not really punished.

However, if you want to bring your nasty cigarettes around me, or drive drunk by a school zone, or abuse your children by enabling them to become obese, then that's a different story. I know that no one is defending those, no one in their right mind that it.

No...most pedophiles are conservative Christians.
Oh, I see what you mean... Woody Allan, Polanski, Judith Levine, Phillip Distasio all make me think of conservative Christians.

It's difficult to get conservatives to ~blah blah blah~
Hey stupid. This is about the punitive taxation of targeted groups in the health care reform bills. Targeted groups which have been targets of the uber-liberal crowd for decades.

Do you wish to discuss the topic, or not?

Don't we need every dime we can get to pay for all of this? If so, why leave out other "risky behaviors" which also burden the system?

Is it because of political correctness? It's okay to go after fat people, smokers and drinkers but not IV drug users, unprotected sex practitioners, and others who engage in "risky behavior?"
