Fascism in action :laugh2:

It absolutely is. Read up on Benito Mussolini.
Which authoritarian dictator implemented the rent control law?

Fascist ideology espouses the view that capitalism is bad and that government should manage the private sector. Go read up on Mussolini's writings on fascism, he would agree with what Oregon is doing.
Mussolini is dead.

In fact we have in America a system of government that is recognized as being a representative democracy, not fascism. The people's representatives approved the new legislation, not some fascist right wing dictator.

Couching a debate about Oregon's new law in hyperbole is self defeating.

Artificial government price controls do the opposite of what they want. Why build more apartments if you can't charge what you need to make it worth the investment? Therefore the supply will remain too low and landlords will be forced to defer maintenance. The tenants and landlords suffer.

The new Oregon law is consistent with fascist ideology regarding government control of private industry. It is not "hyperbole".

Stop trying to give folks a history lesson. We all went to school and know all about Mussolini. Just answer his question.

You obviously don't understand fascist ideology. Class over. You flunked. Next!

Governments protect people when the market is skewed against them. That is a role of government.

Yes I do understand and do not need a lecture from you. What's obvious is that you are just trolling and can't or won't answer his question.

Rent control only applies to people who are already there, so you can't jack up Grandma's rent to drive her out and rent to someone who will pay a lot more. New construction would be at market prices.

That said, we can see in New York where there have been abuses... people willing their rent controlled apartment to relatives after they die, people subletting rent control apartments at a profit. Just about every other episode of Law and Order, pretty much, involved someone getting killed over rent control.
