“Farmers report missing millions of dollars of funding they were promised by the U.S. Agriculture Department, despite promises from the Trump administration that a federal funding freeze would not apply to projects directly benefiting individuals.
[…]
Farmers who signed contracts with the Agriculture Department under those programs paid up front to build fencing, plant new crops and install renewable energy systems with guarantees that the federal government would issue grants and loan guarantees to cover at least part of their costs. Now, with that money frozen, they’re on the hook.

Laura Beth Resnick, who runs a Maryland flower farm, said she signed a contract for the Agriculture Department to cover half of a $72,900 solar panel installation. In late January, she said, she was told her reimbursement payment was rejected due to Trump’s executive order.”

More Trump chaos and incompetence; Trump is unfit to be president.

Solar panels are not an agricultural crop.

When you install government subsidized solar panels you are a parasite green energy grifter. Not a farmer.

She should of stayed a farmer. She should go bankrupt, the company that installed the solar panels is going bankrupt.

".. . . On his first day in office, President Donald Trump ordered the USDA to freeze funds for several programs designated by President Joe Biden’s signature clean-energy and health-care law, the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act. The freeze paused some funding for the department’s Environmental Quality Incentives Program, which helps farmers address natural resource concerns, and the Rural Energy for America Program, which provides financial assistance for farmers to improve their infrastructure.

Farmers who signed contracts with the USDA under those programs paid up front to build fencing, plant new crops and install renewable energy systems with guarantees that the federal government would issue grants and loan guarantees to cover at least part of their costs. Now, with that money frozen, they’re on the hook. . . "

So he's cutting off the grifters?

They, or their attorney(s), should contact the judge who issued the order for Trump et al to continue payments until a decision is made by the courts.

Just today I heard/read that some individuals have submitted evidence to the court that the White House is not complying with the judge's order and that the judge has warned them about continuing to disobey the court.

This should help the plaintiffs in this case demonstrate actual damages caused by the government's action and hopefully can help them all find some resolution.

Farmers on the hook for millions after Trump freezes USDA funds

FAKE NEWS, BOZO.
Funny that the only one reporting this story is WaPo! Aren't they a Soros-back USAID recipient? Why do they ask for money if I try to read their article?
What does a flower farm need with $70,000 in Chinese-made solar panels anyway? If true, they were obviously stupidly forced into that through some stupid green deal with the Biden WH. And Trump only came into office a couple weeks ago, funny that suddenly all this funding came due right after that! Ever see anything in the fed ever work so quickly? What's wrong? I thought you had judges putting the kibosh on all of Trump's efforts--- is that another fake story too? You mean all these farmers signed green deals with Biden in the winter weeks before Biden leaving the WH? :auiqs.jpg:

Nice try, Jackhole, but no one is buying your story. Legitimate people will get their funding.

Yeah, neither were those windmills back in the old west that pumped water to the crops. Dumbass.

So let me see, if you utilize a government subsidy to finance an expansion you are a parasite. But if you use a government financed sewage plant to handle your shit that is just fine. Same for municipal water. How come those people are not parasites?

And you do realize, the oil and gas industries are heavily subsidized. Lady farmer is a parasite, but fat cat oil executives cashing in on government subsidies and special tax breaks, just what are they?

Yeah, neither were those windmills back in the old west that pumped water to the crops. Dumbass.
So your crops only got water on windy days? :lmao:
Funny how all these farmers signed stupid deals with the Biden WH just as he was leaving office,
and now all hell has broken out because Trump came to power just two weeks ago. :auiqs.jpg:

You lying shitheels kill me.

And you are a piece of shit for advocating stiffing the farmers.
The 2005 Energy Policy Act provided the impetuous for installing solar panels to help farmers when power is out.

Probably to run pumps, that would be my guess.

Look like pretty good operators. I bet they have provided flowers to the White House.

And Trump is breaking contracts which means the govt. will get sued and have to pay more.

What if they provided flowers to the White House?
Yes, the USDA's Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) offers grants and loans to help farmers install solar panels. REAP is a government incentive to make solar more affordable for farms and small businesses.

How does REAP work?

  • REAP offers low-interest loans and grants to help farmers install renewable energy systems
  • REAP can help with installing solar panels, wind turbines, biomass, hydropower, and geothermal energy
  • REAP can provide up to $500,000 for renewable energy systems

Who can apply for REAP? agricultural producers and rural small businesses.

All hell has broken loose because Trump is like a raging bull in a China shop. He is a flippin idiot and he has surrounded himself with a damn bunch of carnival barkers and circus clowns.

Jesus. As though flower farms don't use energy. All the above post shows is that the poster has never grown a commercial crop in their life.

That is a good program. And Butterbee Farm seems to be a successful business in a tough ass market.

There is a shortage of rain in Maryland in the DC area? Pretty wet around there isn't it! Often pretty cloudy too, so I wonder what good solar panels are?

I bet they have too. DC is one of their listed providers. Pretty odd to run a farm that you can only visit by appointment. No wonder business is bad.

Look like a couple of real losers to me. It is a wonder Biden didn't take them for a lot more. He should have sold them a few windmills too. One provides snacks for a living and the other one watches flowers grow while chasing his dog around in the field. They look like a pair of dreamers looking for someone else to finance their idyllic fantasy life. I don't know that they will ever get Trump to release $70,000 to them so they can grow flowers.

You are comparing one windmill that pumped water in a 5'x5' area, for livestock to destroying acres upon acres of land for partial intermitten electricity that is sold to the grid.

It was not windmills, it was one.

Dumbass is right, just look in the mirror
