42 million Americans will be starving starting November.

Maybe I am a bit sheltered from seeing this. I don’t live in a large urban area. I live in a red Southern state in a more affluent area. We do have a food kitchen downtown, but it isn’t overly busy. We don’t have a large homeless population, just some transients who hold up signs on a few street corners. People in my area can be fed if they want to be fed. People can find work in my area if they are willing and able to do so.
You should visit St. Louis, MO & tell it to the 10,000+ people made homeless by the tornado in May, that they don't want food & shelter.

Most people on SNAP work & support others. I have a couple tenants who need them. One is crazy bi-polar causing her to lose the many jobs she has had. She is also raising a 7 year old daughter who is to young to work, but is making A's in all her classes. The other is a 75yr old Marine Vet housing & feeding 2 other old women with cancer. He tries to repair vehicles, but his shoulders & back are torn up. Now there isn't any food at the food pantry's & no SNAP food.

10,000 plus made homeless?

Suppose it is 20,000. The Biden Administration allowed thousands of migrants over the border per day. So many that he offered to keep it to "only" 5,000 - per day - as a compromise.

Those people were housed, fed, given access to healthcare, and paid cash, then given transport to the jobs or to supposed relatives.

Don't you wish that that housing, money, and benefits had been saved for americans in an emergency? Even just 4 days worth of Biden's flood would have been enough for all those St. Louis folk to be helped.

The social programs do good things. The people playing games with those programs are the real issue. There are times when there are food banks outside and we see many cars in line, and they seem to be late year models. Those stories you spouted exist. It's the stories of people playing the system and irresponsibility to the max.

Biden is no longer president precisely because he allowed all those illegals. But this attack on the poor is from Trump & Republicans.

I never saw an illegal at a food pantry, vote or use a SNAP card. Many paid Taxes, SS, Medicare, UE, SALT, etc., then if they ever attempted to make a claim on any of it or went to the hospital for anything expensive, they were arrested & deported.

All the migrants I have seen are doubled & tripled up in houses, but were working hard building homes for US citizens. So it wasn't them who are at fault for food shortage or homelessness. The problem is wall street stole all the wealth & paid off your politicians to steal food from the poor.

Most poor have to have someone with means to drive them to the pantry or market. Maybe you should ask them why their car looks better than you think it should. Maybe they bought the car before they got injured, sick, lost their job or had to take care of family & friends. Pantry workers copy their ID's & have them fill out paperwork. They know who the food is helping.

Nope.

Schumer and his gang shut down the government, not Trump. Trump has been looking for prudent and legal ways to fund key programs ever since.

So . . . Biden's illegals were NOT given housing, food, cash, and free transport?

That never happened?

Maybe Schumer gave them stuff when DeSantis bussed them into NYC. But not in middle America. Migrants pile in a van & go to a job site where they work hard all day. Illegal Immigrants are absolutely not the reason St. Louis citizens are homeless & hungry.

Cargill admitted to colluding with the 3 other largest food processors in the US and massively ripped off US citizens & government, yet you Repubtards never, ever mention that or the fact that Trump & Republicans gave them a free pass, plus tax cuts & subsidies for doing so.

Just keep blaming the working poor & FAFO!

Those who are playing the system do eventually get caught. Then they have to pay it all back to the government plus interest. If they don't pay ASAP, it's deducted from their tax refunds, all assets frozen & confiscated. They are never allowed gov housing, food or other benefits again.

You are stuck in the past. You describe illegal immigrants prior to Biden throwing open the borders and allowing anyone and their brother to walk in, claim assylum, and be given prizes like a game show contestant.
Illegal Immigrants are absolutely not the reason St. Louis citizens are homeless & hungry.
Point is that money spent giving them those game show-like prizes could not be spent on helping those Americans.

Your news media must not be doing a good job of publicizing that, because I never heard of it. I disagree with corporate welfare almost as much as I disagree with social welfare.

Of course, Cargill has nothing to do with illegal immigration under Biden, unless they are using the trafficked labor, in which case the CEO's should be in prison.
Just keep blaming the working poor & FAFO!
I blame Biden and the Democrats.

Let's give weapons to one half of the US government and impose sanctions on the other half. I'm sure this will greatly help to reconcile the parties and finally end this terrible and disgusting shutdown!

That is a lot of assumptions. Republicans of course do not get any of those from Progressives.

  • According to the non-partisan health policy organization Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF), immigrants (including undocumented) use less health care on average than U.S.-born citizens. For instance, in 2021 they estimated immigrants’ annual per-capita health expenditures at about $4,875 vs. $7,277 for U.S.-born individuals. KFF+2KFF+2
  • A large study published in the journal JAMA Network Open found immigrants (especially undocumented) contributed more in premiums and taxes than what was spent on their behalf — i.e., they were net positive for health-care financing. JAMA Network
  • Emergency Medicaid (which covers undocumented immigrants only for certain emergency services under federal law) was shown to be about 0.4% of total Medicaid expenditures in a 38-state study — meaning the share is very small compared to what they pay in at the federal program level. Managed Healthcare Executive
  • KFF also reports that because undocumented immigrants tend to be younger and have fewer health-conditions (the “healthy migrant” effect is often cited), their overall use and cost tend to be lower.

If all that is true (and it is a BIG "if") why are Democrats not proudly arguing for the legal inclusion of illegal immigrants in the ACA and Medicaid, instead of pretending to be shocked by the suggestion that it happens when they know damn well it does?

The only bullet point that seems remotely plausible is the one that says immigrants tend to be young and have fewer health concerns. The idea that they are working for sub-minimum wage and no health benefits, but somehow contributing more in premiums and taxes that everyone else is particularly absurd.

You don't say where you got that copy and paste, and it is easy to imagine why you don't.
