Well... here's the issue. The Ukraine tried to move away from Russia and towards the West. The West was like "you're poor, you don't give us oil, we'll accept you, but we won't do anything" and Putin's see this.

Yes, Putin did the invasion. But he only did it because he knew he'd get away with it.

You want to play the semantics game that it's only Putin's fault. But some people are thinking on a higher level than this elementary level logic.

The reality is that people do things because they can. You go to work and you can sleep on the job. Yeah, it's your decision to do so, but can only do it because you're allowed to get away with it.

There was never any basis for conflict with Putin.
We have no areas of conflict.
Russia has always only stayed on border conflicts, like Hungary, Poland, Afghanistan, and now the Ukraine.

Like Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, etc.

Russia can not survive without it.
Nor should they, since by treaty, the Ukraine is bound to Russia.

It was not the occupation of the previous German provinces like Sudetenland or even Poland.

Russia is much less aggressive, colonial, and imperialist as the US.
