Storage of electricity, such as in batteries, adds an additional layer of costs and inefficiency.

"Water" as in dams is also of limited value. Most places that could be efficiently dammed to provide water reserves to run turbines have been. Geology presents some limits here. But too many enviro-nuts are having dams dismantled for sake of restoring fish spawning runs, which is a very questionable gain to attain or of real value for what it costs compared to lost electrical generation capacity.

Geothermal is even more limited in available sources so not much of a solution there either.

Oh I agree with everything you wrote...100% My point is that letting the oil industry go full blown no restricts as Obama/Biden put on via rules and regulations would allow the USA to efficiently move to non fossil fuels over time and at zero cost to the USA, i.e. 10/barrel tax on exports. Not only would it trillions of dollars for gradual and almost zero expense to Americans AND given the USA is one of the BEST in reducing pollution in oil processing Helps climate issues. And as you point out allows the nearly 6,000 products to continue just as I illustrated with the 300 million barrels of oil used in producing tires!
