Fact checking anti-gun myths about guns and gun owners....they just make s**t up........

Go to a public shooting range in America and it won't be long to find a scary looking fkr all dressed up in camo, with extra military paraphrenalia hanging off him, with a blackened face and shooting at human silouette targets with his AR-15.

Should he be suspected as eventually causing trouble? Or should he be laughed at?

( not openly laughed at to his face!) (discretion is the best part of valour!)
And how many ranges in the US have you actually been to?

I' have been to ranges is at least 5 different states and have never once seen anyone dressed in anything but street clothes.

This reminds me of a very funny story from my teen years.

I used to help my dad shoot beaver at our lake house that would destroy our dock and the trees on our waterfront. Well, one day, I bought a 22mag rifle with a little scope on it. Wanting to simulate what I was shooting at, I did a yahoo search (long before Google existed) for "beaver pictures" to print and use as targets. It took me about 5 seconds to realize that there is a part of the human anatomy known as a "beaver" and it ain't the animal with the big front teeth.

I've had that frustration. What used to be the greatest nation on earth is now overrun with pornography.

Just remember what JFK once said, "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable."

The Don is trying to make a case that we have a gun/war culture to blame and is attempting to stereotype those who are gun enthusiasts and wear camo, with the military gear are the ones we should be concerned about. His opinion is void of any facts and is all speculation at this point, and I've called him out in other threads where he has attempted to put his opinion into the debate.

I didn't know he was from Canada. No wonder he doesn't have a clue.

This idiot is just like most foreigners who think they know what the US is like even though they've never been here

I used black silhouette targets because they were the cheapest and most available. I actually used the smaller black silhouette target rather than the full sized one. More challenging. Blue small targets were hard to find.

A lot of the time I shoot at blank pieces of copy paper....taped top to bottom to represent the chestand abdomen...I try to group shots on the top sheet.....a past instructor, a master level competitive shooter used a blank piece of paper as one type of training tool......I stepped it it up to the two sheets

Sounds like a good idea to me.

I've come to vry much like shooting at steel - 21" torso with a 6" circle suspended above it @ 10+ yds
Can't beat the instant feedback - which steps up the stress wen you;re shooting heads against someone else.

If any other none profit group told out right lies to gain donation government would jail them fot fraud. The Brady Center put out a statement a few years ago that said children getting killed by guns is sky rocketing. They desided to move the age one becomes an adult from 18 to 26. Now children would include 95% of your gang and drug related killings. Everybody remembers the clown muslim shooting up Fort Hood killing the best Americans. Another Brady Center big news anouncement. 'When that many people can be killed on a military base the NRA saying more guns less crime is just another lie.

In the early 90's when Bill Clinton entered any military base he would first have his private security go on the base making sure all bolts were removed from rifles and all slides removed from pistols. But that was a lot of time and trouble so Bill made all military bases inside the US gun free zones where mass shooters realize that will bring the bigger and longer kill. That red haired Bozo in Colorado didn't pick that theator because it was close to his home. He went there because the owner had "no guns allowed"
pasted all over the place.. But when some of the victims and their families wanted to sue this corn hole denying these people one of their basic rights a judge throw it out of court. This is stuff so crazy you can't make up.

I see no democRat preaching the evil of hand guns. After all they kill thousand up on thousands a year. But they are always harping on long guns that kill less than ones using their hands and feet. Why is that?
Just read the writtings of our founders who all gave the same answer. It's not for target shooting, it's not for hunting. It to keep criminals at bay and a sure way to end a government out of control. Well?

To call a 18 year old man a child is obviously pushing the limits but to call a 26 year old man a child is simply ridiculous. The average age of American soldiers in Vietnam was 19. If the liberal media practiced true journalism, the Brady Center would be ridiculed for making such a claim.

A "working-class war"

Since the draft officially ended in 1973, many people have studied the role it played in determining the racial, ethnic, and social class makeup of the American troops in Vietnam. These studies have concluded that the average U.S. soldier was a 19-year-old man from a poor or working-class family who had not attended college. Such findings have confirmed the widespread belief that U.S. draft policies unfairly targeted the segments of American society with the least political power. "Vietnam was a place where the elite went as reporters, not as soldiers," reporter David Halberstam noted. "Almost as many people from Harvard won Pulitzer Prizes [a prestigious award for journalism] in Vietnam as died there."
