Extremists and the wider community - accountability.

It was clear that the local police had not got control of the situation and tragedy ensued.

The police outnumbered them two to one and were told to stand down.

The whole incident was agitprop.

This was one of a number of cowardly attacks by right wing nutters. In fact the body count on this one could have been a lot worse. I was shocked at the sight of heavily armed crazies who are avowed haters of non white people. They were marching through the streets in broad daylight intimidating local people. It was a shocking sight.

I think that the right has a duty to sort out its own. Although the perps are few they are seemingly backed up by a silent majority of folk who are nodding quietly with a grim satisfaction.

Their leaders reactions range from approval,to weasel words condemning all violence.

The right wing needs to prove that they belong in the US by rooting out these crazies and reporting them to the proper authorities.

They also need to ditch their religion of hate and embrace secular, modern, western values.

Its the only way they can ever belong.
Sorry man but this is a stupid thread. Everything you said is obvious and the only reason why you made this thread is... None. Basically. No disrespect
Thats ok. Perhaps you could engage with the content ?

That is crazy. The police should have disarmed them to ensure there was no bloodbath.

No offense, but you just turned your lack of experience with this forum into a neon sign.
Why do I need to be experienced? Thats meaningless and that point was stupid.

So it was only the alt right that was violent, in videos I saw it looked like violence from both sides

The two sides are as follows.
Hate filled extremists and..................people who do not like hate filled extremists.
Its time to pick your side.

This is so fascinating to watch, and the events in Charlottesville are shedding even more light on it.

Members of one specific ideology - an ideology with a current and historic record of extreme violence, intimidation and terror - are telling us precisely what they're going to do, and they're doing it. Its expansion is clear and rapid and undeniable. We're watching it happen in real time, e.g in Charlottesville. This isn't a partisan opinion, it is a clear fact, based on observation.

Meanwhile, a group of people - the Regressive Right , a group all too happy to attack the misdeeds of another ideology (the one that opposes the above mentioned ideology) in absolutely every possible way, at absolutely every opportunity, are bending over backwards to be defensive and so very tolerant of the first ideology. An ideology, by the way, that treats women and gays as lesser objects, among other behaviors.

Thats all I had to say about it. Everything you said was more or less true. Thats like creating a thread saying the current president is Trump. Who doesnt know that?

How clear is this "fact"? Which ideology, specifically, was on display? And don't say "white supremacy". That's not a specific ideology.

Where do you think this is? Europe?

We don't live in a police state. The reason those folks were armed is because they feared for there safety because some folks were going to assault them for their beliefs. They were just exercising their rights, the police had no authority to disarm them.

Hmmm. . . . looks like they were right, eh? :bang3:

There is a yawning gap where self awareness should be.

Well, you are free to think what you want, but facts say different. I won't fault a guy for not denouncing hate fast enough for you. That woman dying was a very bad thing. One has to assume she was just standing them and them BOOM! Dead as shit. The knee jerk is dying down as it always has since Januarey. Y'all on the left need to take a look at your selves. A good long one because the left was just as culpable for that woman's death as the driver of the car was. It's just cowardly to say otherwise.

The fact remains, the guy did what the guy did. And by the way, his "weapon" was his car, not something he had stuffed in his jacket.

If the white "supremacists" were smart, if they were really committed, they would show up with ZERO weapons.

white supremacy is a classic example of a racist ideology. thx 4 shring.

White supremacy isn't a racist ideology. That's like saying that the letter M is a language. An ideology is a system of ideas, whereas white supremacy is an idea. It's a recurring theme in various tribal ideologies dreamed up by white people (not that there are many tribal ideologies that are anything other than self aggrandizing), but as a singular idea, it can never constitute an entire ideology.

Try again, thx 4 playing

I've addressed the fellow with the car several times on this forum and nobody wants to listen.

If you are getting you information from the MSM, in all probability you are being lied to.

I am not sure that fellow is even a part of this conversation. Did you know he was a diagnosed schizophrenic? Did you know he was once on anti-psychotics? Did you know he was kicked out of basic training? Did you know the far right organization wouldn't even acknowledge him as being part of their organization and that he just showed up with their regalia and partook?

Did you know it was the ACLU that fought in court for the permit for the far right, "The UNITE THE RIGHT" to have their permit to speak and protest? Did you know that the police were given the order to stand down and not prevent violence?

This spectacle was engineered to foment hatred and anger in the populace, to stoke fear and political tension. The real villains in this are not the far left or the far right, it is the ruling elites, they are the one that orchestrated this whole circus.

I don't condone any of this, it sickens me how the unthinking masses are being emotionally manipulated.

That's a terrible analogy. "The left" weren't victims of that car attack. That one woman was the victim. Dude's just saying that the left had just as much of a hand in that violence as the right did, and if that shit hadn't jumped off, she'd probably still be breathing. Agree or not, but you can't victim blame when you're not blaming an actual victim.
