There are both liberals and conservatives of extreme that embrace authoritarianism. Power corrupts, and that corruption may strike from either side. Believing Maduro embraced it from right wing policies doesn't fit what I've always read about his background. Political intolerance everywhere needs to be kept in check.

Historically speaking, while the right kill others and the left devour their own. Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Castro all self destructive...there can be no threat from within to their power, the closer one is to them the greater the threat, perceived or otherwise.
