Extraterrestrials: They will come...
Many may know about the Drake Equation which was devised by Frank Drake in 1961. This was an attempt to estimate the number of extraterrestrial civilizations in the Milky Way galaxy with which we might come into future contact.
Our Milky Way galaxy is a spiral galaxy we call home as do roughly 400 billion other stars in recent estimates. Our galaxy has several spiral arms of star clusters and a massive cluster of stars in the center. Our Sun which is one out of up to 400 billion other suns in our galaxy is far from the center and halfway up one of the spiral arms named the Orion. Basically we are way off in the boonies, far away from the robust inner city of the Milky Way. Our Sun revolves around the center of our galaxy about 500,000 miles per hour, yet it still takes about 200 million years to go around once.
