Ex-Watergate Prosecutor Says Georgia Probe Is the One That Could 'Send Trump to Jail'
“Former Watergate prosecutor Nick Akerman said there is a rock-solid case against Donald Trump in the Georgia criminal probe into the former president’s demand that a state official “find” him more votes after the 2020 election.”
Except for possibly of his idiot son eric and/or donny jr. doing time, no one in the trump criminal organization will serve any jail time for any in the long, long list of crimes they committed from before trump entered the White House, during the four long years of his corrupt administration, or following his loss of the 2020 Presidential Election.
Regardless of the evidence being uncovered by the January 6th Select Committee (or anyone else), Attorney General Merrick Garland lacks the balls to lead his Justice Department in pursuing any charges against trump or his many henchmen. (A few small fries... maybe, but that would be just for show.)
During his comments concerning the telephone call when trump was recorded telling Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find” the 11,780 votes needed to reverse his loss to Joe Biden in the state before official 2020 vote certification, former Watergate prosecutor Akerman said, “‘If you are asking which of the cases right now, which one is going to send Donald Trump to prison, that is the case. There is a really neat three-year felony in Georgia, that Donald Trump has violated. Prosecutors love tape-recorded evidence because you cannot cross-examine it.’”
Akerman added, “‘What is significant with those tapes is that when you put it in context of all of the evidence that the January 6 committee has uncovered — you put that together, Donald Trump has zero defense in Georgia.’”
What Akerman apparently forgets is, trump needs no defense. The conservatives on the Supreme Court long ago prepared the papers to overturn any possible federal, state, or local courts’ conviction(s) of trump or members of his inner circle that might pop up. Couple the corruption of the USSC with the return of the trumpublicans as the congressional majority following the November Mid-terms, the United States is rapidly approaching the end of the line. An end the Republicans and moderate Democrats in Congress and state legislatures have been working toward since the 1980s. A process that went into warp drive when trump entered the White House... and hasn’t slowed since.
