Even CNN Recognizes the Stimulus Didn't Do Much for the Country

If you don't ask economists, who are you supposed to ask? Who knows more about the economy?

That was before they trimed it down for the republicans in attempt to get some bipartisan action going.

Guess how that turned out?

B'loney. The Bill was $789B! At it's peak, it was proposed to be $838B. Trimming $49B is not the cause for increased unemployment.

Obama sees stimulus package by mid-Feb. - Economy at a Crossroads- msnbc.com

updated 4:21 p.m. PT, Fri., Jan. 23, 2009
WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama said Friday he expects an $825 billion economic recovery plan to be approved by his target of mid-February and urged congressional leaders to work swiftly to pass it.

Now seeing that the claim of 8% was given before he took office I hope you will be kind enough to recognise the facts I just proved.

"About 73% of those surveyed said employment at their company is neither higher nor lower as a result of the $787 billion Recovery Act"

Because they do not think they see it in their own company does not mean it has not helped.

It was not targeted at big corps was it?

This study is only a small slice of the story and the people interviewed have a stake in making Obama look bad because they dont want him to gain steam for regulations omn corps.

See what you want in this study but it doesnt mean what you claim it does.

Where was the money targeted at?

Can you show evidence that the stimulus worked?

Can you provide evidence that it created jobs in the private sector?

Can you show any evidence at all to dispute the facts presented by CNN?

They are not facts they are the opinions of 68 economists who are employed by corporations

BTW 27% of that 68 dont agree with the finding

Do you even read your linked items? It mentions a $825B package. The final one was $789B. Do you really think that $36B trimmed from it caused unemployment to increase to 10%? What about the impact of the other $789B? If $36B can be so effective as to swing unemployment by 2 full points, why hasn't the other $789B reduced unemployment to 5% levels?

Yeah 36 BILLION is a nothing

I have a policy - I am not going to click on links for which you do not include any commentary.

Now, please, answer the question. If $36B of eliminated spending would have been So Effective, why hasn't the remaining $789B reduced unemployment?

Which number is bigger: $789B or $36B?

If $36 Billion would cause unemployment to move by 2 full points, how effective should $789B have been?

consider that around 30% of our employment depends on govt spending. And likely about 10% on govt overspending.

We have become a self eating watermelon. an neither side is seriously poropsing any real soloutions.

I know most of us level headed people already new this but now even CNN is starting to figure this out.... Is hell freezing over?????

Economists say the stimulus didn't help - Apr. 26, 2010
It was obvious from the start it was a fraud.

All those payoffs and wasteful spending simply hurt the nation, Obama used the crisis to push through the old Democrat wish list of pet projects, and it will take years to pay for that crap if we ever can.
