The meteorologists agree: The long hot spell gripping parts of Europe this past week is uncommon.

People looking for relief from the heat in countries like France, Spain and Italy grappled for just the right name for the phenomenon — and settled on “Lucifer.”

The waves of heat sent temperatures soaring to record highs for several days, caused at least two deaths, kindled wildfires and drove tempers through the roof.

In France, people congregated around fountains to bask in the meager sprays, or simply to dive in.

Now this is funny... They are but 1 deg F above average...in some areas and -3 to -4 Deg F in many others... and they are calling this Lucifer? Talk about making up a religious boogeymen to get people scared... Propaganda at its finest....

The degree to which people are simply willing to allow themselves to be duped never fails to surprise me. Those responsible for the failure to teach any sort of critical thinking skills over the past 30 years or so should be jailed for crimes against humanity. What worse thing can you do to generations than fail to teach them how to think?...short of killing them that is.
