Why I say Eskimo:

1) it is an all-inclusive term - Inuit isn't
2) it is not offensive, as some claimed.
3) it does not mean: eaters of raw meat, but makers of straw shoes
4) the argument, that worldwide only that term should be used that in the respective country is used, is nonsense. See the case of the term "Germany".
let me repeat

Are we being politically correct here or something? ... bedwetters use the term Yupik Nation for the people of Alaska ... Eskimo is another term used that some believe is pejorative ... like calling a Lakota Indian a Sioux ... most don't care but a few pee their bed over the Sioux name ...

The point is ... whether we call them Eskimos of Yupik ... they are not Inuit, anymore than they are Aleuts ... I understand the White Trash in Ottawa labels them all as "Inuit", that's because White Folks think all Injuns look alike ... they're better dead than living as pagans ... genocide is easier without this minutia ...

Maybe this is too fine of detail ... but then maybe you don't want your ancestry generalized either ... I'd hate to be known only for sticking my Dutch fingers in a dyke ...
Sioux is also a good name.
