Deep blue states like California and New York are starting to see tax revenue go down while the exact opposite is happening in many red states.
This was completely predictable, especially in California, which is losing businesses almost every week due to rising crime.
California and New York have also been losing population over the last few years for a number of reasons, including crime, high taxes and strict rules related to COVID.
It was only a matter of time.

Heavily taxed blue states such as New York and California last year had some of the country's most drastic drops in tax revenue. At the same time, Republican states are enjoying the highest revenue increases even as they keep income taxes low.

You may not have known it, but Illinois' 1% grocery tax was suspended for the past year. That's set to change on July 1, when the grocery tax will go back into effect, as will a gas tax increase.

Blue States like their sanctuary Plantation Cities continue to bleed their citizens by imposing higher taxes and squeezing businesses dry. The result is that even the rich that can afford it are leaving these states in droves.

they are also stupid enough to raise taxes on those that havent fled the areas to try and make up for the lost revenues or implement fees like congestion fees to raise revenues which in turn will cause more tax payers to flee the insanity .
