Elon Musk says there's substantial ignorance about America's national debt

If Elon and Vivek can cut $2T off the 2024 $7T budget that is probably a small surplus. If not it would be a small deficit.
The next step would be to transfer Welfare to the States and save about $1.3T. Tapering down block grants.
The step after that would be to transfer Medicaid to the states. Similarly tapering down block grants.

Welfare & Medicaid are charity that the Federal Budget cannot afford.
Bro a $2 trillion cut wouldn't even get us back to the pre-Covid budget.

True, due to the exploding interest on the Debt.
Which is why I'm proposing Moving Welfare & Medicaid back to the states, I don't recall seeing them in the Constitution
Please see the new taxes in my post #25
Combined they start significantly paying down the debt

If they gave me back all the SS and Medicare money they took from me and my employer I'd take the money and RUN for the exit.

He was only president for four years

Indeed and added substantial debt
Your link said he’d do it in 8 years

Not four

With that said, I don’t see it happening over the next four years either. Until the largest drivers of debt, entitlement spending, are drastically reformed the debt will continue to pile on

Could reform the tax laws to where everyone pays ten percent period and get rid of the tax code to save 98 billion a year in tax write offs alone. No more wealthy dodging taxes same with corporations.
