I agree with Elon Musk on the issue, and I can't stand Laura Loomer, but Loomer is dead right about Musk being a hypocrite.



For those not following the drama on Twitter, Musk stripped Loomer of her status as both Musk and Vivek came out in support of hiring foreign nationals via the H-1B process. Loomer and other pro-MAGA accounts blasted them both for doing so.

The thing about MAGA embracing the techno broligarchs is that deep down, the broligarchs are pro- immigration. And MAGA is not.

The point is that they are SKILLED labor, so long as they are interested in being Americans and living and working here for the betterment of America, I am missing the problem.

Do you understand how the H-1B program works?

In order to have an H-1B petition granted the employer must demonstrate that they cannot fill the position from the available domestic labor pool and they must pay the H-1B worker wages equivalent to what domestic workers with the same qualifications doing the same job earn.

Employers found to be violating these rules get fined and banned from the H-1B program.

So what? H-1B Visa holders are working in country legally, as far as I'm aware the issue is with illegal immigrants not the legal ones.

This issue a big play by the Deep State to undermine Trump. The issue is DEI, not H-1Bs. DEI means White Men Need Not Apply. The DS is trying to make legal immigration the big issue to deflect attention away from the 20M+ illegals via open borders. Don't fall for it.

We do need to reform our education system to teach math and literacy -a large portion of our domestic labor pool is too illiterate for most jobs.

Again, the problem isn't with the H-1B program it's with the enforcement of the rules that already exist, we need the H-1B program to fill positions the domestic labor pool cannot fill. As someone that has worked in the tech sector for over 35 years and has had to fill highly skilled positions via H-1B's because I could not find a qualified person from the domestic labor pool, I speak from personal experience on this.

One exception does not prove the rule.

The immigration system is abused across the board. A very simple tweak should be that H-1Bs cannot be paid less than U.S. citizens in the same job, and they should be taxed the same as citizen jobs. There are a lot of loop holes that favor using immigrants over U.S. citizens. But that doesn't get rid of the DEI issue. Too many companies have don't hire hetero-white men de facto policies.
