On the "Big, Beautiful Bill"

In Washington, federal workers say that DOGE has left the government's operations in disarray. And worst of all, it might have all been for nothing. Musk claims to have saved the government $175 billion so far (nowhere close to his original target of $2 trillion, or even his revised target of $1 trillion).

And that was before the president's new spending bill passed the House. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the president's proposed budget will add $3.8 trillion to our debt over the next ten years. It's now being debated in the Senate.

Musk said, "I was, like, disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, doesn't decrease it, and undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing."

I said, "I actually thought that, when this 'big, beautiful bill' came along, it'd be like, everything he's done on DOGE gets wiped out in the first year."

Wow, Trump saying one thing (to get people's votes) but doing the opposite? Is that what the Republicans support?

Wow. So the autistic ceo is disappointed that the legislative body with hundreds of members, delivered a less focused product then he would have done by himself?

What a shocker.

To be clear, I have no doubt that he is right. Congress is a huge failure when it comes to budget control.

I've supported a line item veto for the president since.... forever.

Ok, so moving on. We need to try harder next time.

Lol.

Now you suddenly care about what Musk says? Well then. People like you sway about like wheat stalks in the wind.
Whatever fits their agenda, one minute they'll throw anyone under the bus, then in the next minute when the narrative changes, save them. Happens all the time.

I honestly believe they don't have the brains to realise that they do this.

Its what the followers of BOTH parties support.

Example?

Democrats have gone on and on about "Making the rich pay their fair share".

How did they go about raising funding? They lowered the threshold for reportable income from 20k to $600 dollars.

We can still "try harder" this time.

Why are you COMPARING? This is not about comparison but about a problem that needs to get resolved?

Because the Democrats did it, it is OKAY for the Republicans to do it? If it is, then stop criticizing the Democrats.

Indeed.

I think I am clear in noting it's NOT OK for either side but when one side does it, it goes nowhere when condemning the other side.

Why the excuses for being the very person you now condemn?

I condemn Trump while I also condemn what Biden and the Democrats did. All that gets one is the argument that you must get on one side of the hypocrisy or the other.

You spend decades spewing climate change. global warming, global cooling, etc. and in a period of a couple of weeks you try to destroy the person who from your agendas is helping that with his electric vehicles. He has the ability to get things done at a higher percentage than near most all politicians. You guys are going to bankrupt the nation and the planet. and the end result of that will be forced population reduction that humans do so well.

Another FAKE NEWS piece from unAmerican Mucky Bum
If you do not SAVE money first , you cannot then increase necessary expenditure to meet objectives .

As usual Mucky prefers second best with some added bilge and dirty water
.

Republicans condemned Musk and his electric vehicles for years. We will soon be back to that in full measure.

Again, my position never changed. I have always been against the taxpayers giving him billions and billions of dollars and found him cutting this or that when it didn't include his billions as highly hypocritical.

The 4 trillion in New debt spending bill is going to be good for America?

one fact you cannot dismiss because it is FACT

The whole idea of having a president is so that things get better for all Americans. If under any president, that does not happen, we (the citizens of the nation) have a right to complain so that things get done.

This applies to all parties.

Having said that, the guidelines of what is better need to be defined because like with everything in life, nothing is perfect. There is always going to be some bad involved, with the idea that there is more good than bad.

Comparing presidents and parties can be done but only to the point that the comparison shows who is better. Comparing cannot be used to EXCUSE any one president.

It didn't under Obama but did people complain? Some are finally starting to understand that was an issue but sadly probably not enough to make a difference.

We are left with comparing who one decides is less bad.

I disagree 100% on this. You need to prove your case.

data and statistics do that

How can you rate something fake news if the OP is just about reporting what Musk actually said? are you saying that Musk did not say that? If so, prove it!
It's got nothing to do with Musk, moron.

You made false claims about the bill. It's nothing but fake news.

You believed the fake news, without a hint of skepticism, because you are extremely suggestible. There is an inverse relationship between suggestibility and intelligence.

You are very suggestible due to your low IQ.
