Elon Musk thinks DOGE wasn’t worth it — hundreds of thousands of dead people agree

Lets be clear here. DOGE is a great idea. The next President will have a DOGE too. But it won't use a chainsaw it will use a scalpel.

This White House has cut so many good government programs. If they were sincere they would be DOGE'ing themselves. Do you know how much it cost to change the name to Department of WAR? A billion dollars. The parades? Fixing up the airplane that Trump is taking with him? Is he taking all the gold he put in the White House with him? Who paid for all that?

Trump said he and other rich donors were going to pay for the new Ballroom? Can we verify who's paying for it?

Donald Trump’s White House Ballroom Price Tag Suddenly Massively Jumps Again

The venue, which the president controversially razed the East Wing to make way for, will now cost $400 million, he revealed during his speech at a White House Hanukkah reception.

Previously, Trump had talked about the construction project price being $250 million, and then $300 million.
“We’re donating a $400 million ballroom,” Trump said, adding another $100 million to the cost.

He continued:
“Myself and donors are giving them, free of charge, for nothing, we’re donating a building that’s approximately 400 millions, I think I’ll do it for less, but it’s 400. I should do it for less. I will do it for less. But just in case, I say 400. Otherwise if I go $3 over, the press will say, ‘It cost more.’ I build under budget and ahead of schedule … always. I know how to build under budget. I build good.”
Well yes it was a great idea! And of course Vance Admin will only need a scalp because all the heavy cutting is already taken place

Actually we need to put a lot of things back. The cuts I would make would be to the pentagon. And I'd invest in more IRS agents who can go after tax cheats like Trump. Even he admits they all do it.

We don’t need to put anything back. You just said we needed more cuts

Sure we can cut more at the DOD…but we don’t need more irs agents going after working class people for every dime…we need more working class people

Please you aren’t interested in going after tax cheats, you pardon those folks

No Trump pardons tax cheats. George Santos, Grissley Knows Best, drug kingpins when he says he wants to stop drugs from getting in, etc.

You sir are a moron. Why do you think Republicans made cuts to the IRS?

Estimates from the US Department of the Treasury and the IRS indicate that the wealthiest 1% of Americans fail to pay as much as $160 to $163 billion in owed taxes annually through evasion and avoidance tactics.

So you are a stupid stupid man who argues for these people who are making us go broke. Wake the **** up. Now tell me how $163 billion is a drop in the bucket. LOL.

Progressives will not use DOGE. Today they are finally talking about the high costs of living and other things for the common peasant. It is many years since they have done that. We will see if they play the special group crap within all of the groups of the working poor, working, retired classes.

No, dems do....look no further then convict Hunter Biden.

You all are soft on tax cheats....then you raised taxes on the working class, and Xiden hired 10s of thousand more IRS agents to harass the working class tax payers while giving tax cheats pardons

Nonsense. Under Biden, blue collar workers did great. A lot of them got raises that made up for inflation. Only one problem. They were union workers. And we all know you hate them.

Casino workers, healthcare workers, auto workers, dock workers, actors, UPS, etc. They all got big raises because they were organized and had the presidents support. I don't think they would have won had Trump been president.

And now UPS is going to fight back of course. My buddy owns several UPS stores. He says UPS is going to break the union by going automated.

Auto workers jobs are going to be automated too but they secured their future for at least a decade. I don't know about auto workers in 2033. But auto workers got big raises finally. Last time they got big raises was the 90s. Then Bush sent all those jobs overseas in the 2000's and Bush loved letting illegals in and turning a blind eye on illegal employers. You may find this interesting

Between 1999 and 2003, work-site enforcement operations were scaled back 95 percent by the Immigration and Naturalization Service, which subsequently was merged into the Homeland Security Department. The number of employers prosecuted for unlawfully employing immigrants dropped from 182 in 1999 to four in 2003, and fines collected declined from $3.6 million to $212,000, according to federal statistics.

"In 1999, the United States initiated fines against 417 companies. In 2004, it issued fine notices to three."

So Clinton was going after illegal employers. Bush stopped. And if you are a Republican, you defended him while did it.

great at what? getting worse off? Under four years of Xiden a majority of Americans were left worse off...first time that ever happened since the poll was conducted

Watching you social security blood sucking boomers complain about life savings programs that "cost too much" cracks me up. Just know i loathe paying for you to play shuffleboard.

Yea covid, supply chain problems, companies gouging us,

inflation happened all over the planet. you blame biden? But you can't see that Trump's tariffs have raised prices even more after Biden had inflation under check? You're a moron.

The MAGA tech billionaire says he wouldn’t work on something like the Department of Government Efficiency. It’s a shame that he ever did.

“Members of DOGE with no government or foreign aid experience — such as 23-year-old computer programmer Luke Farritor or 19-year-old Edward Coristine, who went by “Big Balls” — were responsible for investigating USAID staff for evidence of “insubordination.” This allegation was then weaponized to destroy the entire agency. Musk declared: “USAID is a criminal organization. Time for it to die.” The following day, Musk said Trump had given him the authority to feed the agency into the woodchipper.

What a difference a few months can make. Musk has gone from swinging his chainsaw around at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), siccing his DOGE goons on career civil servants and bragging about his power to crush entire agencies to meekly arguing that he was a “little bit successful.”

But DOGE hasn’t just been exposed as a fiasco — it somehow accomplished the twin feats of utterly failing to reduce government spending in any meaningful sense and causing a global calamity at the same time.

DOGE will forever be a cautionary tale: This is what happened when messianic tech oligarchs and political neophytes were temporarily handed the reins of government. They didn’t just fail — they destroyed one of the U.S.’ most important organs of soft power. They made the world sicker, poorer and more miserable. And it was all for nothing.’

“DOGE will forever be a cautionary tale…”

The problem is Republicans won’t learn from that tale, won’t learn from the failure that was ‘DOGE.’

They’ll continue to pursue the same failed, wrongheaded conservative dogma, the same failed, wrongheaded anti-government agenda continuing to harm millions of Americans.
He blew the lid off all the Democrat backed scams in the government.

It’s too bad the Republicans are too cucked out to do anything about it.

Democrats will be back in power as the pendulum always swings in Washington. Question is will voters hold them accountable for steps to guard against waste, fraud and abuse.
If Dems get back in power they will do everything to codify their corruption so it can’t be messed with again.

Unions are good. Then at some point many of them get corrupted. They have a stranglehold in many cities. The costs of doing things are massive. When an emergency happens say a small local city railroad bridge has a partial collapse there are times, they waive union rules because it would take years to rebuild it and it would be disastrous to people using it to go to work and other places. When they build a stadium, the costs are more likely 20% higher and more than people who would get paid well anyway. I would demand employees get a fair wage. A chokehold though is held by some of the unions. Our steel and auto industries were destroyed by the corruption and our stupid political class.

With the predictable results.
