A beer hall full of drunken Germans isn't what propelled Hitler into the leadership of Germany. The willing propaganda efforts of the German media outlets were responsible for Hitler's rise to power. Later the Nazi leadership absorbed the German media into the government. Things haven't change in eighty or ninety years. People still depend on the media and If media decides to lie and withhold information and support a crooked political agenda there is little that the citizens can do.
