As for the President, he is one of the worst communicators ever to occupy the oval office. Little doubt of that.
I do believe it was in the best interest of the nation to not create a panic. That I will give him, but his off-the-cuff spitballing around did no one any favors.
As for the Democrats, as usual they claim both sides of the fence. Depending where in the timeline of this virus, you will find them on both sides. One basically scoffing at it, and encouraging people to go out. And then later, completely on the other side aghast that the President didn't shut down the whole country when less than 1000 people in the entire country had it... when... they themselves were saying it was no big deal.
As for the media. Exactly the same. Literally stating the virus is no worse than the flu and the President is being racist to place travel bans. Bringing in "experts" to say the virus is not that bad. But then.... now the media is absolutely engaging in fear mongering and panic porn. We should all be dead by now if you believed the head lines they have put out.

If you noticed in the last couple of days...every media source is again refocusing on new cases.....so I predict that Democraps will all start screaming for yet another lockdown to continue their destruction of the economy, for purely political purposes of course.

This has been the trend this year since they started this pandemic coverage in our corrupt media.
First they all start reporting the numbers every few minutes and then Democrats start calling for another lockdown.
The virus hasn't really done that much damage to this country. It's been these lockdowns and their riots that have done most of the damage.

The Democrats are trying to prevent anything that might help cure the virus from being used by anyone.
They're going to continue telling us that we need another 3 months of wearing that mask to get rid of that virus.

I was hoping we were turning another corner, though hoping we were doing it more cautiously this time. Last couple of days have had national US death tolls under 350 people. Not particularly more concerned about a new wave because fall is in the air. Donnie's BS about it disappearing, similarly to normal flues when summer and hot weather arrives were 100% false and based on nothing, so I am not sure there will be an uptick due to seasonal cooling posited by the other side. Not sure there is any statistical basis of support for either assumption. In Jackson, TN we are out from under manditory masking in business and crowds, though city/county Mayors, health department and larger local and national business representative are still recommending it. I will continue to take masking precautions, distancing, and avoiding air travel, probably until a working safe vaccine is available.

Lifestyle changes in the winter, not many outdoor events, malls seem to have more people. Being outside in open air diminishes. Homes, businesses tend to not us as much fresh air and the air recirculates in the buildings without as much fresh air. The sunlight also tends to kill viruses, while being indoors the viruses tend to live longer.

So that is why there is a summer down tick with viruses and an increase in the winter. The best thing to help keep the virus at bay according to health officials is exercise, drink plenty of water, increase you vitamin C and Zinc. Avoid cigarette and marijuana smoke that can irritate and weaken the immune system, eat healthy and wash your hands regularly and it should help to get, spread and fight the virus.

The virus like all viruses will be here forever.

I still get out in the fresh air for activity during winter, but I get in a hollow tube, breathing the coughs, breaths and farts of a hundred or so other passengers for two hours or more to do it. Will probably skip this season for the first time since taking up the sport.

It’s a COVID Casedemic, not a Pandemic

Fall is in the air, along with a distinct smell of panic among Democrats and the media. Leaves are turning yellow and orange as presidential opinion polls are slowly but inexorably shifting favorably toward President Trump, turning the electoral map a brighter shade of red to match the leaves. There is a chill in the morning air, especially among deep state corruptocrats waiting for the next report or indictment from the few in Washington D.C. committed to the rule of law.
The Chinese virus has been an effective club against Trump making America great again during the past year The first case arrived in Seattle, coincidentally or not, on the same day Jerry Nadler waddled with fellow Democrats from the House to the Senate delivering articles of impeachment.
Initially we heard about Wuhan virus deaths, Fox News ran a death tally as a side bar on the television screen just as business cable news provides a real time tally of the Dow average. As deaths peaked and declined, the DNC media pivoted to case counts, ignoring deaths and hospitalizations.
We later found out that deaths were over counted, with health authorities making no distinction between dying “with” or “from” COVID. George Floyd would be classified as a COVID death since he tested positive at autopsy, despite his true cause of death being a fentanyl overdose. Gunshot deaths and alcohol poisonings were counted as Chinese virus deaths simply because of a positive test. The CDC recently revealed that only 6 percent of COVID deaths were solely from the virus, without confounding comorbidities that may have contributed to but not necessarily caused death.
Now it is case counts, every positive test hysterically trumpeted by the media in doomsday fashion. A positive case is more than simply a positive test, just as a single elevated blood sugar reading does not make one diabetic. In the movie Casablanca, a kiss was just a kiss. In contrast, in the world of public health, a case is not just a case. There are criteria for what constitutes a case, called the “case definition”.
The CDC definition is a bit complicated and includes clinical criteria, meaning symptoms of cough, shortness of breath, and pneumonia. Laboratory criteria means a positive FDA approved test “using a molecular amplification detection test.” Epidemiologic criteria mean close contact with an infected individual or travel to a viral hot spot.
But a positive antigen test alone does not mean a probable case. Instead what is needed is, “Presumptive laboratory evidence AND either clinical criteria OR epidemiologic evidence.” Notice the AND, meaning not simply a positive test.
Additionally, the PCR test for the Chinese flu is quite sensitive based on amplification cycles, as I explain here. The test is so sensitive that it can detect just a few dead viral particles, which have no clinical significance. Most of these test positive “cases” are not contagious or symptomatic, according to the New York Times.
When PCR testing is amplified to the extreme, it is like having a burglar alarm so sensitive that a rabbit running across your lawn sets it off. Yes, it is an intrusion but not of any significance.
A flu virus that has been in this country for the better part of a year is ubiquitous with many individuals exposed at some point. After exposure, the virus replicates, but not enough to cause any symptoms, much less serious illness. Dead viral fragments may stick around deep within the nasal cavity for months, triggering a positive test, and what the media now describes as “a case”.

Doing something should be better than doing nothing and just re-opening our economy. Why not upgrade air filtration systems in public accommodation to HEPA standard; to help stimulate and re-open our economy?

It could take a lot of Labor and generate that positive multiplier while creating Demand and generating more Tax revenue.

How does upgrading infrastructure stimulate the economy?Infrastructure is essentially an expense only. How much economic expansion could be created by upgraded infrastructure? It would be minimal.
