Well kinda is when countries have tariffs at 30%, to 100+% for goods we're shipping.Trump is selling that tariffs are the problem for America's trade imbalance. I'm not buying it.

Someone posted a hit article (they thought) against the tariffs but they overlooked the one paragraph which had a bunch of corporate heads all in favor. Think it was Dr Phosphorus.I could find none, and I am usually pretty decent with multiple search arguments.
Neither are economist. But trump thinks he is never wrong.Trump is selling that tariffs are the problem for America's trade imbalance. I'm not buying it.
OneI
I just did a search to find which economist agree with Trump on Tariffs, but could not find any. Who Are they? Do you know any of note?

Quite a collection of nobodies70 countries have contacted Trump, 70. This has been his goal all along.
As far as economists...
Well I have a business and a 401K riding on it and hope isn’t a strategy.I see tariffs as a corporate tax and with both candidates in last November elections calling on socking it to our corporations, I felt either way America was screwed.
I'm wishing for the best, so hopefully Trump is right. It'll be easy enough to judge based on America's future export and trade balance figures. I'm just glad to be retired and don't have a job riding on Trump's gamble.

angry you got passed over? what do you know about him and his history to just pan the guy?Quite a collection of nobodies
Kinda like George Papalapolous being named as Trump’s foreign policy guru
You ever hear of any of them before?angry you got passed over? what do you know about him and his history to just pan the guy?
I don't follow the gov't like a fanatic, I don't know who most of these people are but if they are there they must have a qualification to be there, not for me to judge, It won't impact my daily life that I know of so not not on my high priority list of stressYou ever hear of any of them before?
No? Neither has anyone else
China doesn't allow their currency to float, they erect barriers to trade and outright block foreign competition, you have NO legal recourse in China if you have a dispute, they apply tariffs, use slave labour (often in the shadows since few operate on the ground there, similar to Stalins gulags which the West didnt know about), they aggressively fund and demand ownership in domestic companies to flood markets and destroy competition until they have a monopoly.
On and on. I haven't even gotten into the IP theft, spying, poisoning of Americans etc.
A 50% tariffs against Chinese products is a gift. If they knew 30 years ago that they would be able to get away with all they have, they would happily trade their situation today from where they were then, even if being hit with a 150% tariff.
yep, almost every major country has a protection tariff on something they make that other's need but they don't want imported as that will hurt the companies that make that product for themselves
Yet in spite of all its flaws globalist libs are enthralled by the Middle KingdomChina doesn't allow their currency to float, they erect barriers to trade and outright block foreign competition, you have NO legal recourse in China if you have a dispute, they apply tariffs, use slave labour (often in the shadows since few operate on the ground there, similar to Stalins gulags which the West didnt know about), they aggressively fund and demand ownership in domestic companies to flood markets and destroy competition until they have a monopoly.
