Dynasty is an American prime time television soap opera that aired on ABC from January 12, 1981 to May 11, 1989. The series, created by Richard and Esther Shapiro and produced by Aaron Spelling, revolves around the Carringtons, a wealthy family residing in Denver, Colorado. Dynasty stars John Forsythe as oil magnate Blake Carrington, Linda Evans as his new wife Krystle, and later Joan Collins as his former wife Alexis.

Dynasty did not originally receive good ratings until the writers invested more in the fiery rivalry between regal Krystle and the more diabolical Alexis. It soon became the #1 TV series in America. The show often focused on the etiquette-intrigue involved with power struggles among the upper-echelon of society. Unlike the more capitalism-centric iconic TV series Dynasty is most often compared to, Dallas (starring Larry Hagman), Dynasty was more invested in the 'human intrigue' associated with general social norms/customs.

Since the modern world of entertainment reflects our modern civilization interest in networking-inspired etiquette concerns (e.g., The Social Network), we can perhaps relate an etiquette-themed TV show such as Dynasty to symbolic (dialogue-engaging) modern world problems such as mishandled toxic-waste. Toxic-waste is, after all, a sign of 'civility' grading, so here's a Dynasty-oriented toxic-waste fan-fic inspired by Erin Brockovich.

Ajay cared about high-school deeply and when he went off to study literature at Yale, he kept his fascination with smalltown values and 'high-school etiquette.' Ajay became interested in the works of Frantz Fanon, Edith Wharton, E.B. White, and James Joyce. After graduating from Yale, he decided to travel to Europe and joined an anarchist-club in Spain. While studying anarchy with the club in Spain, Ajay learned a great deal about modernism critique and industrialization problems such as mishandled toxic-waste. When Ajay returned to America, he decided to become a journalist and Internet-blogger!

Ajay would dress in vigilante-like costumes for photos to complement his idealistic Internet blogs about toxic-waste (the real anathema of modern civilization). Ajay would write about the appeal of comic book characters such as the Toxic Avenger, Swamp Thing, Poison Ivy, Captain Planet, and Captain America --- characters symbolizing modern management consciousness relevant to urbanization, industrialization, traffic, democracy, and of course capitalism(!). Ajay's blogs became quite popular, so he decided to 'spice them up' with considerations about free-speech and the allegorical/metaphysical connections between pornography and eco-pollution.

Ajay revealed on one of his blogs that he actually hailed from a very prestigious family from Algeria and moved to America in pursuit of a high-quality education (since American colleges/universities were undoubtedly the best in the world --- e.g., Harvard, Yale, Stanford, MIT, Rice, Duke, etc.). Ajay was given the Internet nickname by his fans/followers 'The Knight.' Ajay carried the honorable alias well and professionally and really did consider himself some kind of 'knight of values' in the modern landscape of dialogue-driven social etiquette. He told his mother of his activities, and she was very pleased.

A new blogger came onto the scene. Her name was Alexis, and she was a firebrand of anti-democratic and anti-American sentiments. Alexis was a Texan and graduate of the University of Miami. She was very attractive and escaped a terrible family-scenario (abusive alcoholic father in a Texas trailer-park) to survive on her own and earn enough money to attend Miami where she obtained a degree in psychology. Alexis was everything Ajay was not --- outspoken, rebellious, foxy, socialism-sentimental, and very playful. Alexis was blogging that the best response to modern problems such as mishandled toxic-waste was clearly eco-terrorism.

Alexis and Ajay disagreed about everything. Ajay appreciated the terrorism-sentimental works of Frantz Fanon but he did not agree with Alexis that eco-terrorist characters in American pop-culture/literature such as DC Comics' Poison Ivy should be considered 'role-models' for social behaviour. Alexis was given the Internet nickname by her own followers/fans 'The Panther.' Alexis thought the alias was cute and fun, and she poked fun at Ajay ('The Knight') by referring to him as 'food for hippies.' Ajay and Alexis's arguments gained a lot of attention and hype and even created forms of fun/mild social hysteria, but they also drew the attention of pedestrian-politics minded politicians (reading Internet blogs) interested in toxic-waste discussions in the proverbial 'court of public opinion.' Would the Prince (Ajay) be able to outwit the fiery 'princess' (Alexis)? Ain't media regal?
