I still have all of my 501s from around 1987. Those were probably the best cut jeans ever. They just fit right. And they kept their shape.

There's no good jeans today.

501 button fly jeans were the only ones I would buy when I was looking for jeans. Buy 'em new, wear them and wash them 3 or 4 times, and you have a set of jeans that is basically custom fit to you.

And, when I buy them, I liked to buy the dark blue jeans, because as I wore them, they would fade and end up looking better than the ones you could buy pre distressed in the store. Besides, part of the fun of wearing blue jeans is to break them in to fit you.
