Duck Dynasty Robertson's rape/murder fantasy

Boiled down. Phil believes that the godless have no morals, so they can get away with anything they want. Fortunately for all of us, he did not expand his sermon on what he thinks of people who believe in a different god than he believes in. but be that as it may, Phil, who doesn't know shit about atheits, other than that he puts them into the same category as gays and lesbians, would like us to be just like the rest of the uneducated Cajun country swamp dwellers where he lives. If so, then they would know better than to think that they can kill, rape and mutilate.

As a life long atheist, I do, indeed get to do exactly what I want to do, without fear from judgment in a non existent afterlife. What I want to do is to live by the Golden Rule, and in a way in which my loved ones will always respect me, and my values. Phil, fortunately, is not one of my loved ones.

That's good of you.....but when someone chooses a different moral code....like the monsters in his example....I guess that is just a different choice.....

True. Believers like David Koresh and Jim Jones come to mind....

Oh. Pardon me. Now that I know that Phil lives in the EDUCATED part of Louisiana, then I know that I want to be just like him and his neighbors.

And I believe his kids all have college degrees and a few have graduate degrees or are working on them.....

Sorry, Guy, but I lived in Louisiana for over 10 years. A person in LA who has a Masters degree is almost as educated as a Californian with a high school diploma. High school graduates in LA is about on par with 8th graders elsewhere.

See...the problem is he laid out the problem with what the atheists preach in very stark, real terms......and they can't deal with that reality.....when you believe and promote each individual making up their own moral code...the atheists assume that the moral code will be very "christian" I mean even vandal used the term the golden rule....but....since according to atheists moral codes are all valid since we can each make up our own....the duck guys point is true........the moral code of these monsters is simply a moral code of their own making .....so why would an atheist have a problem with that....there is no ultimate judge and so whatever we do here really doesn't matter....at least to atheists.......lead a "good" life...fine.....lead a life as monster.....it doesn't matter.....except to the people who cross your path....everything is over when you die......

so of the two belief systems...the one that says each of your actions will be judged..... vs. there is no ultimate judge and no reward for being good, and no punishment for being bad.....which system will tend to indulge the worst of human behaviors........try thinking really hard on this.....

Apparently if you don't believe in God, or his God, you're unable to tell right from wrong. You allegedly can't have morals without believing in God or something.
Which of course is idiocy.

And Robertson's bizarre story clearly indicates that simply being Christian doesn't render one 'moral.'

Christians have no 'monopoly' on morality, where those of other faiths – as well as those free from faith – are perfectly capable of living moral lives.

Jim Jones - Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

Jones was surprised when a Methodist superintendent helped him to get a start in the church even though he knew Jones to be a communist and Jones did not meet him through the Communist Party.

He was a fan of stalin and the original jun.....

Jones moved away from the Communist Party when CPUSA members became critical of some of the policies of former Sovietleader Joseph Stalin.[16]

Jones had long been critical of the United States' opposition to communist leader Kim Il-Sung's1950 invasion of South Korea, calling it the "war of liberation" and stating that "the south is a living example of all that socialism in the north has overcome."[25

And what did jones preach......

While Jones always spoke of the social gospel's virtues, before the late 1960s Jones chose to conceal that his gospel was actually communism.[14] By the late 1960s, Jones began at least partially openly revealing the details of his "Apostolic Socialism" concept in Temple sermons.[14]Jones also taught that, "those who remained drugged with the opiate of religion had to be brought to enlightenment — socialism."[38] Jones often mixed these ideas, such as preaching that, "If you're born in capitalist America, racist America, fascist America, then you're born in sin. But if you're born in socialism, you're not born in sin."[39]

The moral code of the Buddhists teaches them that even taking the life of an insect is immoral. Based on that, I would say that Phil and his shotguns and duck slaughtering are pretty much beyond the pale of anyone who should be preaching morality. However, he has chose to follow a moral code that allows him to kill as many ducks as the law allows. Hmmm. Sounds like the same decision path as a godless person to me.

Hmmm...I am pretty sure he never said that simply being Christian makes you moral...and his point is simply that if you choose to be a monster.....atheism has no complaint...right?

yes...because it is the right one.....since we aren't animals and aren't programmed to follow certain behaviors we have to discover things.....having analyzed the various religions I have seen no reason to leave the Catholic Church....and the priests who molested kids were breaking God's law and need to be punished....before you go there....

You athiests should support the Judeo/Christian moral code.....the Ten Commandments are as good as you are going to get...but of course...there is judgement in there...no sex with other peoples husbands and wives...no stealing....and of course the main focus of atheism...no judgement......

Wrong. I got the point - entirely.

It is disgusting.

Why should a "Christian" feel the need to be that graphic in wanting to convey that those who do not share the Christian faith are somehow not protected by G-d?

I mean, what kind of fucked-up thinking is that?

This stuff is just gross.

Mr. Ducky Duck does your religion a great disservice, and that is putting it mildly.

And the fact that you defend it speaks volumes about your worldview.
So you can't comprehend that people without gods guidance don't have the same values and morals that people have that do. You're world view is dangerous and the fact you can't see that is sickening.

Well, let's think about that, äääh, interesting argument of yours. I am a Jew. I do indeed have morals and guidance from above. And btw, it's none of your ******* business who believes what. But your arrogance is now duly noted.

That being said, I've never seen atheists talk about fantasies of Christian families being raped and beheaded.

So, in this case, who is showing more and better morals? Mr. Ducky Duck, or atheists?

There was once a time when Christians actually taught and lived the Gospel of "Jesus Christ of Nazareth". But now they fantasize about other human beings being raped and beheaded and they scream for gay people to be executed and they are more interested in just knowing 100% for sure that Obama is a kenyan usurper than they are interested in actually spreading said Gospel of "Jesus of Nazareth".

You are in no position to be talking about morals if you support this kind of inhumane rhetoric.
Wait, you're Jew but still can't comprehend a person being an atheist doesn't hold the same values of life and right or wrong that you do? Please explain this total disconnect that this stance would require.

I have dealt with ignorant people like you before, so the bent of this "conversation" is of no suprise to me.

The logical fallacy within your piss-poor argument is that somehow, atheists have no morals.

This is where you are wrong. Very, very wrong.

One of the key points that Baptist pastors love to make is that being moral will not get you to heaven. They often say in their shake-and-bake, pre-packaged, pablum-filled sermons that "hey, even atheists have morals, but they ain't going to heaven".

Really, you need to keep up with that modern Christianity is doing these days.

And even so, even if it were the case that for some bizarre reason that atheists were to have no morals, that still would not empower Mr. Ducky Duck to be spreading this kind of imagery. That's totally unchrist-like.

But hey, who ever said that the Church was actually for Christ these days, right?

I graciously accept your concession.
Gracious is the last thing I would expect from you. You are less than gracious. You don't even hold on to the principles that would make you a gracious person. Why would I think as much after reading your posts that are counter to that?

You don't even know what principles I hold to, and I am quite sure that you are unaware of the "tikkun olam" in my profile. But you sure love to judge people, now don't you.

Indeed, I think that you and Mr. Ducky Duck are a good match for each other....

What is to keep you from doing right other than punishment? Isn't that why we have laws to punish people for wrong doings? You kill someone and you go to prison. If we didn't have punishment for your actions what would we have?

What keeps me doing right? My personal sense of right and wrong. I don't need a law or a sky fairy to tell me not to kill someone.

Weird ******, you are.
So your personal sense of right or wrong is based on what? If it wasn't faith based where did you get it from? And if it wasn't faith based what else would lead you to believe in your sense of right or wrong?

You can't imagine that someone who doesn't believe in a sky fairy can have a strong sense of right and wrong?

Such limited intellect.

It becoming more and more obvious that he's judging others by what he knows about himself.
I'm judging you by what I know of you and what you post. I don't think I'm wrong. If I am you haven't shown it.

Yes, we have noticed that you judge people all over the place. Not very Christian, eh?

There is audio at the OP link, this really happened.

I cannot imagine any person of faith wanting to support this.

Are there other Christians out there who believe that athiests somehow deserve to be raped and beheaded?

It's becoming a bizarro world for Rightie Christians, apparently. Not much room for Jesus these days...

Well...considering that isn't his point.....he isn't suggesting it happens...read what he said without your bias.....he is explaining that according to atheists, there technically is nothing wrong with what these guys did...they are following their own moral code...right...? That is what the atheists profess...each human can create their own moral world...right? And these imaginary monsters simply made up a different moral code that allows this atrocity....right?

No, he speaks it as a disgusting fantasy, and those kind of images are actually quite in violation of the chasteness and moderation that both the Tanakh AND Jesus command. Have Christians gotten so far away from their own theology that they cannot recognize this? And are they so gullible that they cannot see that Mr. Ducky Ducky is doing this for only one reason, namely, $$$$?

I thought that Christians were not supposed to worship money. Well, Mr. Ducky Duck sure does.
