President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that he is calling off Tuesday night’s attack on Iran.

Trump had previously given Iran a deadline of 7 p.m. CDT to re-open the Strait of Hormuz, threatening to destroy Iranian “civilization” if the strait was not opened. It was a deadline that had been extended multiple times.

According to post from Trump on Truth Social, the attack has been called off subject to Iran agreeing to a “complete, immediate, and safe opening” of the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump said in the post he has agreed to suspend bombing for two weeks, and it will be a “double sided ceasefire.”

Trump also mentioned his administration has received a 10-point proposal from Iran that he believes “is a workable basis on which to negotiate.”
