So the OP is on Confederate Memorial Day and you talk about the 3/5ths compromise to mock someone. How is that not trolling again?

Slavery is evidence that our founders, the ones who owned slaves anyhow, were very flawed philosophical men.

You know a man who was not flawed? Or perhaps a system that you did not need to work within?

I know that some flaws are far more egregious than others.

Slavery is right up there with rape. Kinda worse, if the rape victim survives.

Today it is, but 150 years ago slavery did not have the same hideousness as it does today.

Look at it this way, just a decade ago the norm was to be against gay marriage. Even Obama claimed to be against it when he ran for president in 2008.
Today, we already have much of the left viewing anyone against gay marriage as being evil.
Another decade or two, and we will have a sizable portion of the population that will want anyone left who is still publicly against gay marriage, to be arrested on hate crime charges.
