Left vs Right. Never compromise with the other side, always attack the other side, turn a blind eye to your own shortcomings, just attack, attack, attack. This is what voters elected our lawmakers to do - then they stand there, scratching their backsides and wonder why there is so much gridlock, and so little gets done.

It's not rocket science people. "My way, or the highway!" will only lead to gridlock. Working with the other side, each giving some ground to get legislation passed is far better than doing nothing at all. As the old Pogo comic strip once said:

"I have seen the enemy - and it is us!" :bye1:

It's a political/electoral system that incentivizes and rewards the worst impulses of its participants.

But We the People don't care enough to fix it. Or, the wings don't WANT to fix it so they can "beat" the other.

Self-inflicted wound. As usual.

It's the way because the electoral system makes it the way.

A better electoral system, like Proportional Representation, would change that, to a certain extent

Bipartisanship: Republicans going along with Demcorats desires.

Fascism: Republicans following their own agenda.

Racism: When Republicans question open borders and race based DEI hiring.

I wonder why it is when democrats whine about compromise it is always their side that wants what they want and demands the republicans compromise. Yet when republicans ask for compromise the answer is always NO and democrats agree.

Do you remember posting this? Pepperidge Farms remembers. :laughing0301:

"With Donald Trump and Joe Biden's legal baggage and age issues growing by the month, it's high time for voters to consider kicking these 2 old creeps to the curb and taking another look at a well-qualified younger candidate who's experienced enough to lead on day 1....Nikki Haley. As a Liberal I disagree with much of the Conservative agenda but would feel much more comfortable with this lady in the Whitehouse than either of the leading candidates we have now. Let's put these 2 old guys out to pasture and elect a smart, well qualified candidate who can lead America in the 21st century."

Voters overlooking the best candidate.

If that's what it means to be an "independent", all I can say is "Thanks but no thanks.

Dems demand capitulation and cloak it as compromise. Always.

Proportional representation rocks.

Except when one side tries to tip the scale by filling their districts with people who aren't eligible for representation.

Trump pretty much broke your wagon, didn't he? :laughing0301:
