.
On Thursday, Gen. Robert Neller told the Marines, “I hope I’m wrong, but there’s a war coming.”
General Neller, and his counterparts for the Navy, Air Force, and Army should give his words serious consideration.
The U.S. Military has been involved in wars in the Middle East since 2003. During this time very little headway has been made toward resolving these conflicts, and the enemy over there is just a few thousand poorly equipped religious extremists at most.
However, a war fought with North Korea or any other target the idiot Trump seems determined to invade, U.S. personnel will face several million well trained and well equipped troops. Understanding this, and the last fourteen years of tragically poor showing by the U.S. forces deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and places unknown to the American public, should give our leaders pause.
So, before the idiot Trump bites off way, way more than General Neller and his friends commanding the other branches of our armed forces can chew, Neller, his fellow generals, admirals, and other military decision makers must explore all reasonable options.
Facing the reality of what could be a devastating future, should our military experts fail to review such options, the results of the next war could very well see the United States divvied up among China, Russia, and maybe, North Korea. Or, a burnt rock orbiting 93 million miles from the Sun.
