The massive AI buildout (and its effects) has been keeping the market and the (K-shaped) economy up and running. But some serious cracks are starting to form there. There are signs that chip production is far outstripping actual data center usage, so while NVDA is showing great numbers, the end users are seeing their unused chip inventories bulge.

If that trajectory continues -- and who knows -- and the oil shock puts the global economy in worse shape, it won't be pretty. There's just no way to know right now.

It's doubtful you think at all......

If the economy goes in the toilet, it's going to be for a lot of reasons. The legacy debt we have built is matched by other countries who seem happy to just keep spending money they don't have.

The strait is 20% of the total flow of oil globally. About 1/2 of that can find another way out.

So, just what is going to happen, Nostradamus.

If we were not so far in debt.....I would not be worried.

I am as worried as hell without Iran in the picture.
