The West Point awards ceremony was supposed to take place Sept. 25. Hanks was to be honored as an “outstanding citizen” outside of the West Point organization with a history of social service that exemplifies “Duty, Honor, Country,” the academy’s three core ideals.

What makes Tom such an outstanding citizen? Is it because he got insanely wealthy making movies or the fact that he is a left wing cook who got insanely wealthy making movies.

Tom Hanks has done a TON of charity work helping U.S. war veterans. His movies like Saving Private Ryan and the television series he produced like Band Of Brothers and The Pacific have also shown how heroic U.S. WWII veterans were.
