The survey asked respondents whether “in general” they “support or oppose requiring voters to show a photo ID in order to vote.” Among respondents, 62 percent of Democrats said they support requiring photo ID, while the number rose to 87 percent among Independents and 91 percent among Republicans.

Additionally, 84 percent of non-white respondents said they supported requiring photo ID, along with 77 percent of white respondents. People with college degrees were less likely to support ID requirements, with 69 percent of respondents with four years of college supporting compared with 85 percent of respondents with no degree.

I have absolutely no problem with that. It should be a simple requirement of all voters. If you aren't a us citizen you can't vote, if you can't obtain a simple ID you shouldn't be voting.

Even a 16 year old can easily get a id and so can a 90 year person. There is no excuse not to get one to vote and require it to vote.

If voting is the holy institution it's supposed to be then you would think everyone would want high standards and requirements for it and to make sure it's as secure as possible and s privilege held only for American citizens.

The inability to obtain acceptable ID is due to "what's in it for me" syndrome The vast majority of black and browns have no problem what so ever producing the needed ID for the purpose of obtaining welfare benefits along with any other government hand outs. If they want it, need it or will benefit from it they can and will get it. Bottom line---There is no valid excuse for not having proper identification.

How do they get governemnt benefits without ID?

Every voting bill that makes ID mandatory also provides free ID for those who cant afford ID.
