Doge reduced warning and response time for the Texas flood.

Less government, more death and destruction.
Duh............your article:

In an interview, Rob Kelly, the Kerr County judge and its most senior elected official, said the county did not have a warning system because such systems are expensive, and local residents are resistant to new spending.

“Taxpayers won’t pay for it,” Mr. Kelly said. Asked if people might reconsider in light of the catastrophe, he said, “I don’t know.”

Tropical Storm Chantal will be arriving here shortly. If I drown, it is totally Trump's fault for warning me I should go out and pick the tomatoes while I can.

But at least their taxes are lower than they would otherwise be.
Exactly. More importantly, we have less government influence in a subject (weather) that the Federal Government has no legitimate mandate to be involved in.

Examining the statistics for 2023 turns out the most skillful forecasts for each city was from the private sector (see table below), with weatherchannel/weather.com (WC) typically in first place, except for a few cities where Microsoft (MS) was the best. The National Weather Service is not the best anywhere.

Geez, this is enlightening and essentially destroys the liberals entire argument in this thread. It's just too bad that none of them will be smart enough to realize it... :/

I knew that some idiots would blame Trump and DOGE for the Texas flash floods.
Well, what can we blame Trump for?

DOGE cuts to NWS
Reduction in the role of FEMA

It demonstrates a lack of concern for protecting the American people and de emphasized disaster relief

Any storm named Chantal should drown you.

Trump should fire whoever is responsible for naming storms. Just give them numbers and be done with it.

"Some experts say".....sure, sure.

People HATE the "experts" now and with good reason.

Also, you all jumping to politicize the tragic death of little girls is so horrid, yet so desperate. Of course you can't see that.....
What's worse is the attempted cover-up by the incompetent administration, all while trying to deflect blame to the 'libs' or (D) with comments like YOU just made.

Shame on you.

Reduction in the role of FEMA
Duh, still active.

DOGE cuts to NWS

Meteorologists Say the National Weather Service Did Its Job in Texas

DOGE cut hundreds of jobs at the NWS, but experts who spoke to WIRED say the agency accurately predicted the state's weekend flood risk.

Don’t confuse The Cult with reality.

Well Texas……here is what you voted for

Trump’s Push to Eliminate or Shrink FEMA

  • In late January 2025, speaking from Asheville, North Carolina, Trump said, “FEMA has not done their job for the last four years… FEMA is gonna be a whole big discussion very shortly… I’d rather see the states take care of their own problems” — with the federal government merely providing funding directly .
  • That day, he teased an executive order to “fundamentally reform and overhauling FEMA — or maybe getting rid of FEMA” .
  • In early June 2025, Trump announced he planned to phase out FEMA after the 2025 hurricane season, transferring its roles entirely to state governments, with disaster aid flowing “through the president’s office” instead of the agency

Warnings were issued starting 12 hours out. Well within the NWS guidelines used for years, Moron.

Keep losing, it’s what you do best.

"Unprecedented." "Beyond anything experienced." "Follow orders from officials to ensure safety."

Can someone tell me, had Trump's budget cuts for fiscal year 2026 already taken place back in 2017 when Hurricane Harvey was dumping literal FEET of water in a matter of days?
