Doge reduced warning and response time for the Texas flood.

He can't understand why they can't buy another home in a different location during rainy season. I mean, all of his rich friends do.
Trumps biggest concern about heavy rain is that his hair will get wet

You really have to feel sorry for those that want to force .politics into a disaster.
Advisaries were posted as they always are. As soon as it became apparent that unexpected effects were were influencing the storm the advisories were updated to flash flood warnings.
To claim that having 10 or 100,000 more people on staff would have made the forecasts perfect just shows how ignorant of weather you are. Our ability to forecast weather is more a gamble then it is a science simply because so many things have an effect

It is politics

Trump policies and DOGE cut staffing levels without concern for impact.

This is one of the impacts. We are just entering hurricane season and will see the impacts of reduced staffing at NWS and FEMA

So you are saying that with 100 more people we would know weather patterns and can predict the weather not only perfectly but many hours ahead? Are you just nuts or do you try really hard? I have been all over the country I know how they are unable to make perfect predictions. I even understand the science that goes into predicting the weather. So I feel sorry for you that you do not understand but feel compelled to make it about politics instead of the real world

Science officer....You mean like:

Maxdeath is sensitive!
No not sensitive. Sensible, I have problems with those that do not understand the reality of the world and our current abilities in that world. But hey you do you

Hope not to find out cloud seeding by dirty Dem operatives caused the rains. Parking vunerable kids right in the path, no escape. Then of course, Blame Trump GOVT cuts. Rains don’t normally start up in pitch black night causing flooding. Nothing found would shock me.//

No chance you can backup the 'Facts' from your article?
 This idiot wants me to back up actual interviews with people affected by the reduction. Dude, just go ask Trump what happened. You’ve been lying this whole thread. Acting like cutting hundreds of jobs is semantics.

Maxdeath is sensitive!
Maxdeath isn't wrong on this though as far as the weather forecasting. I hate Trump. I hate MAGA. I hate the GOP. I really want to find a way to assign culpability to them for this. I cannot, however, find any evidence of it. Extra staff was on hand in Texas, the warnings went out. It was just really sucky timing being in the middle of the night when a lot of people weren't up to get updated more severe forecast than the one that had been out during the day/evening. Sort of the same thing happened here in 2018 with Tropical Storm Michael except the radical last minute change in the forecast from breezy and showers to Batten Down The Hatches went out in the afternoon when people were already out shopping and working and such. That storm was supposed to hit a cold front out in the sticks many hours later far from here. Instead, that cold front started moving in faster and they collided right over our city, unleashing an unholy amount of rain.

Here are quotes from the Republican Sherriff, County Judge and City Manager.

"Listen, everybody got the forecast from the National Weather Service," Kidd reiterated. "You all got it; you're all in media. You got that forecast. It did not predict the amount of rain that we saw."

Kerrville City Manager Dalton Rice also said during the press conference that the storm "dumped more rain than what was forecasted" into two forks of the Guadalupe River.

Kerr County judge Rob Kelly told CBS News: "We had no reason to believe that this was gonna be anything like what's happened here. None whatsoever."

Since January, the NWS—a branch of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)—has reduced its workforce by nearly 600 people as a direct result of staffing cuts ordered by the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, as part of Trump's mission to eviscerate numerous federal agencies.
Examining the statistics for 2023 turns out the most skillful forecasts for each city was from the private sector (see table below), with weatherchannel/weather.com (WC) typically in first place, except for a few cities where Microsoft (MS) was the best. The National Weather Service is not the best anywhere.

And once again, we see liberals use disaster and death as a political ploy.
Pathetic
It is being called a "1000 year event" - there is no record of this kind of flooding and river rise this fast. NONE.
No one predicted this. Not local, not state nor federal. Because there is no record of it happening before.

But as usual - the left hatred consumes them and they blame it on anyone not in their religion.
