Does the Acceptance of "Jungle Basketball" Help the WNBA?

CC's "flagrant foul" of Reese never occurred. CC grabbed her arm to prevent a layup (CC apparently has never seen Reese shoot layups), thus putting her on the foul line for two shots, which was strategically appropriate.

Reese went down for no physical reason, then tried to use the soft foul as a pretext for a retaliatory assault. The refs' decision to add a flagrant foul penalty was just stupid and unwarranted.

Again, does anybody think that jungle basketball will enhance WNBA viewership?

She is orders of magnitude better than 99% of the WNBA players. Clark could play on a men's college basketball team and do pretty well.

Very few other players in the WNBA could do that.

She could be a poor man’s “Steve Kerr” at best, which is outdated in basketball.

She couldn’t beat any guys off the dribble, couldn’t create her own shot, and would be dominated on defense. Her only offering would be to hit wide open deep 3’s.. but at least she’s proven she can hit them while pretty much all other WNBA players shoot low, awkward shots at a low rate that would be blocked and don’t go in as much.

Clark would do well at the boys regional final high school level. She’d get smoked by elite state champions

She’d never get a shot off. She’s too slow to be a threat to drive so defenders could just play her tight. She can’t create her own shot She can’t elevate high enough to get above the defender and because she’s a woman generates her shot lower than a man. Not to mention she’s used to shooting a smaller lighter ball so all those problems will compound.


We won’t even get into tne ridiculous defensive liability she would be in tne men’s game. Teams would hunt her relentlessly.

On the shorter end for a male point guard. (Curry is 6’2”). If you watch her shoot she doesn’t elevate nearly as much as the men and her shot generation point is much lower. Add all that up and it equals a bunch of shots swatted into the stands.

They take fewer shots because they are lazy. Watching the clips I have seen I see why the WNBA isn't popular, the players are boring.
