Cheap Health Insurance - Consumer Reports
While millions of Americans have benefited from that and other reforms, many are still prey to the kind of skimpy junk plans the new law was designed to eliminate. Some plans, known as mini-meds, are operated by employers and brand-name insurance companies with special dispensation from the federal government. Others, such as health discount cards and fixed benefit indemnity plans, from companies youve probably never heard of, are so meager that regulators dont consider them to be health insurance at allthough thats frequently not clear to consumers. And some of the companies operate one step ahead of the law.
----------------------------------------------------------------
So I was watching this health care specialist on TV talking about people losing their own coverage. And he said the coverage people will be losing can't be called "coverage". For instance, McDonald's sells for $59 a month for $2,000 of coverage. Two grand? What is that? Like a splinter in the "Emergency room"?
He said, what's worse, if you have a health care plan that doesn't cover maternity, then he considers that plan "malpractice".
So this is what Republicans are fighting for? Again? More failure?
