Does Higher Education Suck, and Does It Matter?

There is lots of investment in Texas, Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas.

Rural areas get less investment because investors invest to make a profit. If its not profitable to put a plant in New Boston, Texas vs. Fort Worth then they won't.

I think that even if it is profitable, that many times, a lib would not.

We've seen with Hollywood, that making money is not their primary goal. THey are happy to piss away vast amounts of other people's money, without any concern for their professional or ethical responsibilities.

Film shooting locations in Georgia and Texas bely that.

If you want to be a lawyer or judge, get ready to go to college.
Engineer, chemist, chemical engineer, computer engineer, biochemist, finance, accounting, logistics, electrical engineer, dentist, nurse, mortician, large farm or ranch owner, pilot, air traffic controller, paramedic, etc.

If they don't need a four year degree, they still need a two year degree or equivalent school. Otherwise you are competing with immigrants for dishwasher jobs.

Strange because, from my perspective, we live in an anti-intellectual age in which people are vilified for wanting an education.
Well it's not like they really are giving them one now are they?

An individual needs to find out what their gifts are an get the education needed to pursue a life based on those gifts.
I know people who make a nice income in sales, thy have a gift for it. They got their training education from their parents and others who were in sales. My friends Agent makes a big income and only went to high school his father also an agent taught everything he needed and said'' you don't get the education you need for this business in school.''

The kids don't know what to look for.
People need to learn to learn because with AI and shitty corporate policies becoming rampant, someone may need 3 or 4 career fields before they reach retirement. It seems like more graduates I know than not work somehow outside their major. My sister is an accounting major. Has never done accounting. Her career has mostly been in that six sigma/lean manufacturing arena. Both her degree and her jobs dealt with numbers, but that is about as close as they come.

Some things you just need an education in....
Pharmaceutical Science is something that can't be taught at a trade school unless it's just a tech's position where they count pills and print labels all day.
A true pharmacist actually knows how to build compounded medicines from scratch if need be. It doesn't happen often but the backgrounds in organic chemistry and compounding are not exactly simple.

I remind young people with the Ivie League educations that even George Bush and Hillary Clinton had to start at the bottom after graduating from higher education. Bush swept out ware houses in Waco Texas and Clintons first job included taking care of laundry of her employer.
Some feel after graduating it entitles them to a fancy office with ''Della Street'' for an Executive secretary like'' Perry Mason.'':)

Depends on the sales. If you're bank relationship manager you do.
