Does Higher Education Suck, and Does It Matter?

It's been like that for decades. It certainly was in my HS. If you were not "college bound" they did not give a shit about you.

A friend of mine took all the advanced classes in HS (he's very smart) but as his family was poor so he ended-up getting drafted after HS and going to Vietnam.

He survived that and came back and went to college on the GI Bill.....About a year later I saw him and asked how college was going and he said that he was thinking about quitting because of the way GWU professors were treating him due to his service.

It worked out really well for him because back then the .gov used to pick "talent" out of the colleges and put them to work.....He went to the State Department and worked there (and all over the world) till he retired.
Thank you for the 50+ year-old anecdote. :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg:

Enough "snobby" people become a society.
The only clue necessary is how they attack you after you have won a debate point, if they even stick around. Most will run away when they cannot answer the flaws in their thinking, and almost without fail, their reply is, "Get educated".

That is a direct line into how they view anyone who disagrees with them. They assume you are some kind of mud dweller, unfit to argue with them.

Sucks you wanted to be a doctor but not get a degree I suppose.

The way you ignored my point, to personally attack me, shows that you know my point was valid, and you have to go sleaze mod to avoid admitting it.

You had no point. Millions are hired every year without a degree.
