Zone1 Does "G-d" have a name?

Does "G-d" have a name? If so, who gave it to him? If he gave it to himself, why should it not be spoken or written? Why is it OK to call him King of the Universe but not God? Can someone explain this?
His name appeared some 7,000 times in the Hebrew (Old Testament) portion of the Judeo-Christian that he inspired dozens of men to write. It's written with four Hebrew letters YHWH known as the Tetragrammaton.

The most commonly accepted English pronunciation of the Divine name is JEHOVAH.

Same Prehistoric Conqueror

Sounds a lot like "Jove," doesn't it? And Jupiter sounds like "Jew Pater."

Jove, was pronounced "Yo way." In other words, Yahweh.

It all means "running away," both originally from a Mongol invasion of the Caucasus, and its subsequent form of escapism.

You are relying on how people who mispronounce it, mispronounce it. And "Jew Peter" is hilarious .

I call Him Father.
His Name is YHVH or YHWH among others

Well, if there is a God and he punishes me for saying such things, then I prefer to go to hell, because it sounds like it's be a more interesting place than heaven. So, **** God.
The funny thing is if you lived in a Muzzy country you'd be dead by morning for that post.

Now thank God you love in a Christian country where you at least have this life.

BTW, God will give you what you want. Enjoy it

Not in Judaism God does not have name. He is referred to as Elohim which means an omnipotent all powerful God, and Adonai, a loving God humanity's father. They are not names but describe aspects of God.

Nouns/names define/limit. "God", in order to be truly "God", could not be limited. That is at least partly why Moses did not receive a noun/name when he asked the burning bush for one.

YHWH represents a verb form, not a noun.

15th post
.

He'll remember that.

.

There is no "He" or " person " .
Universe does not work like that -- we cannot personalise the Infinite just so that simple souls can respond to a Good versus Bad fairy story .

And anyhow , Where did this "Bad" come from ?
How ?
Why ?

See how silly it becomes .

Does that suggest that there is a God and it is very silly?
